My current PC shit itself after a power failure during a BIOS update.
Yes, really.
Yes, I've tried to fix it (reset CMOS, flash bios externally, everything)
Yes, I've had a professional try to fix it.
Yes, I've asked for forum fixes EVERYWHERE.
No, I don't want to build a new PC again…

So now I need a new PC.
Mainly for CoD and MSFS at 2k ultra settings.

Been out of the buying-a-pc game for a while, is this a good deal? Or should I wait until Boxing Day sales?

Many thanks in advance,
Sad boi

Go here and start building your own machine: https://au.pcpartpicker.com/list/

Then once happy with a spec and price point, shop around the usual suspects to cross-compare.

      And what have you found?

This isn't a personal shopping service lol

Might as well get the current gen GPU if your budget is that high?

    Ryzen 5 5600, RTX 4080 16GB GPU, B550 MB, 16GB 3200MHz RAM, 500GB M.2 SSD, 750W Gold PSU: $2788 via Techfast.

Techfast and Allied Gaming are the same company.

Needs more storage but you can just migrate your existing drives to your new rig.

    • yeah this is the much better deal to go with.

    • It bums me out that they didn’t have a 3070Ti or 3080 desktop deal this Black Friday. I remember ones earlier this year being in the $1500-$2000 range - I would’ve been all over that.

I guess my only worry would be the 5600 bottle-necking the 4080, even if I upgraded to the 5700x.
But you're right, this is definitely the better deal. Thanks for this!

  • With any luck OP, Techfast might repeat something like this deal around Boxing Day:

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/720558

Who really knows though…I expected it would happen again at Black Friday, but nope.

  • It might not be obvious, but Allied and TechFast are sister brands and come from the same place & people.
