With the AliExpress BF sale ending on the 30th at 7pm AEDT they've released their last set of coupons that offer a pretty good discount. These seem to only apply on products with the Cyber Monday banner in my limited testing.

The Black Friday coupons and the US$4 off every US$30 Spend deals are still valid too.

Coupons are 1 per account and minimum spend excludes GST and shipping.

Any decent Android phones under AU$200 that's eligible for this coupon?

  • +1

    Didnt work for me. Weird

  • Yeah, both are unrecognised codes for me.

    • They definitely have the sale banner?

      • Yeah, has the small banner

  • +1

Updated the main link to go to the page where the coupons are displayed. Perhaps selected only?

Sorry AE, I've got nothing left in my cart after 11/11, maybe try a few months later :-)

  • Want some smart fan switches but nothing works.

  • I've logged a job with AE - I'm assuming it will be resolved once all the sales are finished haha.

    • What's the issue?

      • Not sure - I just showed them a screenshot of the codes not working and they said they have raised it with the system people and they would get back to me. Chances are slim to none - but heres hoping! - another 12USD off my watch buy is a winner for me.

PSA: buyers beware, they have the ability to delete negative (detailed) 1 star reviews and will 100% play dumb and lie to you about it. They'll tell you they'll refund you and they will "punish" the seller but it's all hot air. Their cs support is absolutely terrible… If you can get past their dumb chat bot.

I got scammed and lost like $50. Seller stole a crucial part of my order so i now have a paper weight. I showed them countless photos and screenshots of the seller literally lying and admitting that they opened and used my item before shipping it to me. Also the seller lied in the dispute stating that i made a "mistake" yet never explained what that apparent mistake was (they lied, didn't say that in any variation). It's a scammers paradise imo. PayPal sided with scammer, they refused to reimburse me for $60 return shipping, so i didn't return it as return shipping cost more than the item

    • +3

I may be lucky and your incident sucks, but I've had nothing but excellent experiences with honest sellers, having purchased at least 50 items. There's a bit of stigma and generalisation that is in my experience unfair.

    • +1

This sort of shit can happen on ebay too, although i believe it's pretty rare for paypal to side with the scammer/seller - that's nuts. (profanity) paypal though, they've proven they are pretty scummy in recent years, so not surprising.

      • The dodgy thing regarding my PayPal dispute, was that it was immediately escalated within 12hrs of opening the dispute. I was suss, because you usually get 10 or so days to 'communicate with the seller' before PayPal reviews the dispute and that didn't happen

    • Make a chargeback claim with your CC company.

A seller sent an item that was damaged during transport. I complained by opening a case. Was told to close it and they’ll send me a replacement. Next thing you know they want me to buy an item in order to pay for postage of the replacement part.

Raised a chargeback and provided all the evidence. Seller claims that I received the item and there’s no issues. CC company sided with me.

    • Similar experience. Bought a guitar neck that was functionally impossible to use (Truss rod literally fell out) and the the seller said "Please take a video of the problem" Then they said they would provide a partial $15 refund (On a $100 purchase). Since the guitar neck wasn't useable, I kept asking for a full refund or for them to send a replacement. They said I could send it back at my cost (Around $40). I contested it with PayPal and they said they wouldn't refund the purchase because the seller claimed I had tried to fix the neck and I refused to co-operate with sending it back. Quite a few other purchases have worked out with soiled or faulty products, and it's all part of the Ali Express lottery. Either things arrive or get "lost" in the post or the item arrives without an issue. Having purchased from them for 50+ orders over the years I'd say it's a 75% chance of things working out. The other 25% just hope you didn't spend a lot on those items.

    • And I just received a $162 refund after receiving a defective item. Provided feedback and they also sent an Auspost return label. YMMV
Always remember to 'buy the seller'

  • +7

Another PSA: It's impossible to get refunds for packages shown as delivered but not actually received anymore. AliExpress will always step in to intervene and reject the dispute.

Their demand of proof is an officially stamped statement from AusPost with the exact tracking number. AusPost does not issue such statements nor have an official stamp. At most you can initiate an investigation, but that's "insufficient evidence".

    • +4

Agreed. I have had countless undelivered, damaged or non functioning items all have disputes found almost automatically in the favour of the seller with often times impossible requirements stated by AliExpress. I will now only buy low value items from AliExpress that I will not miss if they are not delivered.

    • PayPal buyer protection?

      • yep, that or chargeback through your CC/bank.

    • +1

I've just started a dispute with AliExpress for a DHL tracking number that never delivered a package to me and was not addressed to me.
DHL sent me an email which I attached as proof.

I said to the officer that it was greatly appreciated, as I'd probably need it to get the chargeback with my bank…

    • +1

      Code didn’t work for me.

I’ve had great outcomes over disputes with AliExpress, so far they’ve all been in my favour. Mostly all my packages have been delivered and even that ones that have been delivered to another country have been successfully resolved but it all comes down to the tracking number provided for my instances.

    • This sort of crap is why I wouldn't buy anything more than $5 off ali. Even then, I rarely bother because it's not worth the time and wait to save $5 off buying local australian stock on ebay.

    • +3

I have had similar experiences too. Currently have lodged a paypal dispute. I received only 1 of 2 items in a small package and when i requested a refund Aliexpress says i didn't have evidence despite having provided photos of the package which is small enough to contain only 1 item. I think i wont be buying much from AE anymore after this. Ive previously bought hundreds of stuffs from them without many issues but not anymore.

    • And I just received a USD $162 refund after receiving a defective item. Provided feedback and they also sent an Auspost return label. YMMV

    • +1

Exactly the same thing happened to me. They wouldn't even listen if you try to explain that we can't provide the "documentation and stamos (seals" for them. They also completely ignored every other problem i had like the item had a big scratch and that i literally can't even turn on my item

  • Code didnt work for me either

  • +2

Give up to buy from this dodgy online marketplace which lack of customer protection and shipping info, customer services etc.

  • +2

The code only works on some products. It's a dodgy offer from ali like is common.

  • Just to temper the comments above, I've spent thousands across hundreds of items without any significant issues.

I've had a few disputes but I can't remember an outcome I wasn't satisfied with.

I may have been lucky and perhaps I'll start using paypal, but with judicious (ab)use of coupons and sales I feel almost criminal on aliexpress.

    • +1

I'm there with you. I've now had about 20 packages arrive since 11/11 and they've all been flawless except one. Had a DOA, raised a dispute, provided evidence and refunded a few days later.

  • Looks like the $24 code has reached its maximum usage.
