    Just be the Tile brand for half the price? I can't see much of a difference in product between this and that.

      The majority of Tile doesn't have replaceable battery (so become e-waste once battery runs out). The battery on Samsung SmartTag are replaceable.

        Interesting. I've bought three (lost one) of the square ones and they've all got replaceable batteries.

      AFAIK the Samsung ones have better coverage, because there are far more Samsung users than Tile users out there.

        Yeah that's probably fair. Really that's only a practical advantage if you have a habit of absolutely losing your items, rather than misplacing them in a pair of pants or jacket or down the side of the couch.

      Samsung tags have far more compatible ping devices in the wild than Tile does.

    Looks like Pixel 7 Pro has UWB, so assuming smarttag+ features might work? Anyone tested?

      You need a Samsung phone to to have SmartThings which enables the features.

      I believe these were announced a few weeks before AirTags. But not available for a while after AirTags were.

      AirTag was announced on April 20, 2021,[1][3] made available for pre-order on April 23, and released on April 30.

      The device was announced at Samsung's Galaxy Unpacked event on January 14, 2021.

      So to your question, maybe ask - Does Apple just copy Samsung/Android products?

      Everyone copies everyone. It doesn't matter. The consumer wins because we have options. I only wish Samsung would just allow other devices to use their network. They'd make a killing if they just make it available to all Android phones.

    Got one for my kitten, was too big for her neck, got a airtag which is bit smaller and circular to easily fit and using with ipad to track

      Mine just arrived in the same way, the packing was pretty crap in a big box loose with no padding!
