      Yea but Kogan…

Does it fit in the Soda machines?
Why would someone buy these if can have empty coke bottles for free?

The mouth of a SodaStream or SodaKing bottle is much wider, so normal soft drink bottles won’t fit. I haven’t seen the Coopera bottles but they may be the same.

Also, the plastic walls these are made of are quite thicker. Normal single-use bottles are thin and may fail after multiple carbonations.

        • The mouth of a SodaStream or SodaKing bottle is much wider, so normal soft drink bottles won’t fit.

Yep, Cooper's Homebrew bottles won't fit either. They use same soft drinks bottle mouths.

      • Clear bottles is bad for beer.

    • +4

These are for brewing not sodastream

  • Big-W Ebay+ had SodaKing 2 bottles 1lr for $6.75 delivered last week.

    • +1

Yeah but they cancelled my order.

      • I got mine, may be over sold! same like the Sunbeam Coffee machine.

Not on sale but highly recommend picking up the 500ml plastic bottles for just sipping out of. Quite handy and less likely for them to go flat before finishing a bottle. They also make dishwasher safe ones in the 500ml (same as the 1l ones - but not the ones on sale at Aldi).

The 1lt are my go to for pouring into glasses. Both serve a different purpose for me.

    • +2

Agreed. I always had half a bottle go flat but now with the smaller ones my CO2 bottles are going much further!

  • +4

These are all on clearance everywhere due to the new dishwasher safe version of the bottles.

…Oh. - Ozbargainers that throw their bottles into the dishwasher.

In the 1980s, SodaStream bottles used to be made of glass and didn't have an expiry date!

    • +2

I think you can still get glass SS bottles.

I've got SS that are at least three years past their expiry date and they're still going strong.

      • +1

I had those but you can't get 1L ones, which drive me nuts

        • +1

They do have 1l ones but only compatible with SodaStream DUO Sparkling Water Makers.

What the heck? Expiry Date… I had no idea.

I just spent considerable time looking to find it on the bottle. I never would have known.

Surely this is just marketing to sell you more stuff. What a load of nonsense.

        • +1

          Yep, total nonsense.

          Ignore.

        • +2

Something about the integrity of the bottle not being guaranteed to not explode when you fizz if after the date… Interested to hear if anybody's bottle did explode from use after the expiry date and how long it took to get to that point!

          • +1

@lainey13: If a thin plastic disposable bottle doesn't explode, their thick boi won't either.

Even if you are really, really rough with a disposable bottle, the worse you'll get is the lid comes off a bit and makes a bit of a mess. It's not like it's a catastrophic explosion.

      • Stainless Steel sounds cool

  • get the aus made ones for the same price

    • +4

      Where are they?

  • Switched to the glass bottles and machine, way better option and holds the chill better too. Bit smaller capacity wise but dishwasher mode makes it way easier

  • Be careful, there are different sizes for different machines.

  • +1

Anyone got a link to a glass machine that’s less than $300?
