Price has been coming down steadily over the last while, the camels say this is $1 over the all time low, so I reckon that's pretty good.

I saw that right away. I thought I was fast, but you're faster.

I've got these, at this price I'd recommend them, though they are lacking in bass (being a 2.0 system).
    Extremely clear speakers.

    • I have more or less the same model (bluetooth 1280), agree on the Bass. It's there, but needs a subwoofer for high-volume full music enjoyment. They are still much better than my TV's built-in speakers or a similarly priced soundbar.

    No Bluetooth

    • +1

Yeah I think the XXXX-DB models have bluetooth, the XXXX-T are the regular ones.

I see speakers with timber finish. I upvote.

That would be ridiculous. I was thinking the same until I got the S2000 MK3 and sent it back after comparing to cheap 50$ Z623 that I picked up on fleabay. There is a thread I created on OZB where people agreed they didnt find them THAT good as the hype surrouding it.

      • +1

My old Z623s have just packed it in. I'm hunting for some good replacements. Im surprised by the feedback on these since I also have the 1855dbs (attached to PC) from Edifier and they are extremely good…

        • The MK3s are definitely NOT desktop speakers and should not be used for that. In a large room, they sounded as good logis in most songs or slightly better than logis in certain songs only. When I played jurassic park movie in the big room, I could not identify any difference at all. The logis sub did a lil better on the lower bass, but the bass on the MK3 wasnt bad at all. You dont need a woofer out on these unless you want to disturb neighbours. But I didnt find the sound stage to be better or mids to be better or anything like that. The highs were a tad better in some songs due to having a seperate tweeter on the mk3.

I may try the S350/S360 DB, but for now after comparing MK3 with 623, I dont have any interest to do so.

Also Z623 have some advantages. They fit nicely between monitors as they are small but still have sht loads of bass due to the sub. HP connectivity, bass control on speakers and very decent sound quality.

      • Good find!

      • I have never heard of the site before, are they reliable?

        • +3

They're pretty popular for PC parts, have bought a processor from here before. Can vouch, no issues.

        • +1

100% reliable. Brick and mortar stores are good too.

I'll also give an updoot for JW. Legit mob

I've heard them, even with some eq they still sound pretty rough and muddy. For the same price (or often way less) any 2nd hand logitech speakers with sub are far superior buy.

    • Which logitech speaker?

    • I mean it's all anecdotal, but I've had the opposite experience. I have a different model but they have always been clear, my parents like theirs too. Inputs may be a factor there.

A set with a subwoofer is always going to have more bass, but while Logitec makes great mice and keyboards, I have found their inexpensive audio stuff to be worth exactly what you pay for it. If someone is looking good sound from a set with a sub I would suggest looking over 90, not under. Probably not Edifier's $400 subwoofer set either though, my faith in them has limits - and a $150 cap.

Are these a lot better than ops post

    • +1

Also possible $10 with current PRIME promotion. I'd buy it over this listed deal, even just for the black - I find the "wood" tacky. But I need it before/for xmas.

What use case do.people have for these….? (Playing music ofcourse….lol)

    • +1

Maybe to hook up to a PC, or a bedroom TV to give more ummpf…. Or a projector, again for better sound?

      • +1

I have a pair of edifiers in my bedroom up in the corners, powered by an small amp and used for watching movies on my cheap projector.

Very happy with the bang for buck performance. Recent highlights Andor and Top Gun.

There is a totally mental Indian film on Netflix called RRR… I can't recommend it enough, it is like if Tarantino directed a Bollywood movie crossed with Crouching Tiger… It's as insane as that sounds.

          • +1

@beebul: Hahaha. Watched it a few weeks ago.

It was pretty wild. The Corridor crew guys put me into it.

    • A little gaming-corner for the kids.
2 beanbags, 32" monitor, and a cheap portable speaker underneath.
      Gonna replace with these.

I'd get them headphones, but they'll be YELLING at each other to be heard.

      • And isn't that what children do !

    • I have the Bluetooth version of these (1380DB). I have hooked it to my PC using 3.5mm aux. I would recommend it.

  • If i want to upgrade my crap old radio to something using these, what would you recommend?

  • What’s the difference of 1280 and 1380 model?

  • Swear Ive paid $78 maybe with cashback or something

    Need a s3000 deal

    • S2000 still go for about $65,000

    • I love these speakers so much.

  • I would go for 1280 Bt. I own 1k b&w passive speakers and I think 1280 is a giant killer.

  • How would these go replacing a pair of Microlab SOLO6C speakers? (100 Watt (50 Watt *2) Wireless remote), I want to free up some desk real estate.

    • These are fairly large

  • how would these go as an upgrade to the speakers that come built into a typical TV?

Our Panasonic LCD's speakers are decent enough for watching the news or something, but watching a action movie would these be a significant step up?

would they be comparable to a couple hundred $ sound bar?

    • These are better, with as much sound (but not bass) amplification as you'd reasonably want.

Sound bars around that price have awful clarity, good luck watching any Nolan mumble film with one of those.

  • +1

    "Versatile input options."

    RCA or RCA.

Doesn't sound very versatile to me.

    • yeah, nearly ordered and realised RCA only. I didn't think any kind of speaker or amp would stiff you with RCA only these days. My TV is 5 years old and doesn't even have RCA (or digital/headphone) out, only optical or bluetooth so these would be useless for my TV

  • I have a pair of these in the shed, They sound amazing at floor level as they are slightly angled upwards. The base carries very well through the floor. If sitting on a shelf there is a lack of base and overall volume. These are well worth the money but not a product for audiophiles obviously.
