      WHAT is burner phone?

      • +6

A phone that burns, I'd say get a Samsung note, those are known to explode.

    • Yes the taleeban used the same , totally untraceable

      • +3

i suspect buyers will be put on an AFP watch list…

        • +2

That would explain the price reduction, as it's partially offset by AFP funding.

  • I don't need it!

    • But you will still buy it, because that's the Ozbargain way.

      • Yeah - it's hard not to.

      • Exactly! hahah, just bought one

  • does this phone can setup as hotspot?

    • +17

      I don't think so Yoda.

      • +6

Fellow disciple you are I see

    • don't think so, it doesn't have wifi

      • +1

doesnt look like it has much of anything

    • ?! No wifi of course, but you could use USB tethering, or probably bluetooth.

      • +1

        Possibly even irDA

        • +1

I remember having a dongle for my Ericsson to do that, back in the day. :-)

          • @bargaino: Things we used last millennium

    • Nope, no way of sharing the mobile data.
And the built in web browser isn't capable for event the simplest of browsing needs.

64 MB RAM, 128 MB Internal storage

    Blown away!

    • But it's unlocked & has dual sim.

The average price on Amazon according to Camel is $69.18.

Obviously the most important question is, does it have the amazing snake game ?

    • +1

There is a version of snake, and a few other games, like frogger, etc. All super simple, but may fill 5 minutes if you have a good imagination.

  • Dual sim burner phones when we gettin the re-up

  • Darn, bought this at HN a week ago online… more expensive with shipping cost plus not likely to receive it before Amazon if I were to order it now from Amazon.

    • I specifically joined Onepass and Catch with a $10 discount code just to get it for $65 thinking that was the best deal and there wouldn't be any more stock since its an EOL model. Now I have a targeted $10 discount if i use use the Amazon app for the first time. $53 would have been much closer to what these phones are worth.

    • Chatted with HN support and they'll refund the price difference. Although I still paid for shipping.

  • I assume these phones cant get contact details from google acc, and can only be used with the phone book stored on the sim card.

    • Correct, they don't sync with any online accounts.
You'll need to manually enter the contact info, or have it stored to the SIM.

We need this in the upcoming WW III

  • Why?

    • +1

because some people use telephones to make calls

      • What a ludicrous idea. That will never catch on.

        /s

For all the jokes about it having 32mb memory and 128 storage and whatever else,

I have a fair few (re: 4 or 5) of the newer Nokia things, and they all have about 10/16mb of storage.

Honestly, if you, like many others, just want to mess around with these phones but not waste the money, I'd say buy one, then when it comes complain about the storage lies when you're done with your fun, and return it.

We have made this phone a best seller on Amazon. Well done team OZB.

    • Now temporarily OOS, burner phones always have the best sales and least votes

so i've got the sand coloured version from a previous deal. it's really just for the collection; can't find any other use for it since it doesn't have wifi, can't hotspot, comes with a 0.55a charger (what, they couldn't even bump up the output to 1a?) and shouldn't even have bothered with that 0.3mp camera. does come with a sandisk edge 16gb microsd, but for the $62 i paid, it damn well should.

love my 8110 4g bananaphone more and recommend hunting down one of those if you're specifically after a feature phone with decent standby battery life

    • Is the banana phone the one from The Matrix?

      • +1

        the first 8110 was
