I am bit confused how Zip works and find the info on their page not so clear.
Is it like afterpay but instead the payments have to be made Manually. The catch is I have to remember to make the payment on time to avoid the fee. Can the balance be paid upfront?
Only after it has finished processing.
It basically works like a credit card. You can make the full payment upfront and avoid all fees.
you can set up autopayment month to avoid the monthly fees (which is what I do) or make additional payments and pay off the whole thing at once
Can you pay by ebay gift card and still get the discount?
I remember it was possible to pay all by giftcards then choose zip as payment option without actually having zip account
But seems now it seems the payment option will disappear if giftcard has covered all the balance, maybe leave the minimal balance to be paid by zip and rest by giftcards?
I think it just worked for me to select ZIP, put in the promo code, then add the gift cards. Then nothing more left to pay, $0 order.
Does that mean you didn't have to open a Zip account? Don't want to get credit checked if I can help it.
@Tinqer: Thanks mate. Can confirm it worked. Bought $680 worth of Swap celebration gift card from shopback ($659.60 after cashback), redeemed and didn't have to open a Zip account.

I think eBay discovered the flaw in being able to use a gift card and bypass having a Zip account. IMO it will be likely be back once the flaw is fixed.
FYI I just got mine from the BF deal, used it for the first time this morning on our two carpeted bedrooms and I’m very happy with it. We only vacuumed 2 days prior with our old vacuum and yet the bin in the Dyson was completely full with the amount of dust and hair it was able to pick up that our old vacuum missed. That said, our old vacuum is a cheapo Kmart corded one so it’s quite a big upgrade for us, maybe it wouldn’t be as impressive if upgrading from a better model?
