I'm glad they've brought it to NSW.
I have a post for the VIC version!

Shame they removed the access to escape rooms… :(

  • +21

    $2500 MONTHLY VALUE

    🤣🤣🤣

    • +6

Lol you laugh but this is a huge saving

      • +52

        I just saved $39

        • +1

that's my most recent use case for Ozbargain mostly

laughing and saving (by not buying)

        • +1

          ayyy this guy still here.

        • If you buy something like this for cheap, you won't need to find some other entertainment at full price.

Or sure, you could sit at home playing games / watching movies / going for walks.

          • -6

            @Keplaffintech:

            other entertainment at full price.

            you play full price ????

            • +2

@jv: no, due to deals like this

              • -3

@Keplaffintech: You should look for better deals.

                • @jv: Can you give an example of a better deal?

                  • -5

@Keplaffintech: Pretty much any other deal on OzBargain.

                    • +4

@jv: your contribution to this thread is useless

                      • -7

@Keplaffintech: and yours is even worse

                      • -2

@Keplaffintech: You actually believe that 3 months of this is worth $7500?

I have some swampland you might be interested in buying then…

                        • +1

                          @jv: No, I believe it's worth $39 * 3. Are you following the thread?

                          • -1

                            @Keplaffintech:

                            No, I believe it's worth $39 * 3.

                            So you pay $39 * 3 and it's worth $39 * 3.

                            I guess we both agree it's not a bargain then… 🤣🤣🤣

                            • +3

@jv: Worth at least $39 * 3? Better? The point here is that this saves you money by buying it because it could replace other entertainment that would cost you more.

How could you go out and entertain yourself 10 times a month for less than $39? (aside from long walks on the beach etc).

                              • -4

                                @Keplaffintech: I'll quote you:

                                "No, I believe it's worth $39 * 3."

So nothing to write home about…

                        • +1

@jv: And who did that little swampland grow up to be? None other than Washington DC….

    • +2

It probably refers to rent saved as you’d need to sleep there to play all the free hours included.

  • +3

Is this for NSW only, or VIC too?

  • Either you come early or don't bother going to Alexandria especially on weekend. Very limited parking space.

    • It's only redeemable Mon-Thurs or Sunday night

      • There's nothing wrong with their comment, your reply is invalid. There's limited parking (even on Mon-Thurs) but it's even worse on weekends.

  • +1

How does the 'X hours of arcade games' work? Do you just get handed a freeplay card and they take it back after your time is up?

    • Yes, for eg if you book 1 hour, they will give you a card that you can use for an hour.

Book 4, you get 4X1 hour of card.

    • +4

At B luck and sons in Victoria if say you book 1 hour of arcade games then upon arrival they hand you a card which will work on the arcade games for one hour after it is first scanned in. I have redeemed multiple cards on one day and tested unused cards at a later day by not redeeming on the booked day and can confirm that these cards have an expiry date sometime in the future (not sure how long it actually is though), so you can, in theory, stockpile them up towards the end of your funpass expiry date and use them later.

      • +12

Staff told me my cards have a life of a whole year.

So every month I redeemed all 16 and have lots of spares for extra occasions!

        • This is genius. Thanks for the tip

      • +1

can you use it for ticket games?

        • +1

I have used it on some of them - but you don't get any tickets at the end!

  • +1

Got the email, also for WA too.

  • +10

Redeemable Sunday after 3pm - Thursday

Usage condition. Saving you a few clicks to discover this.

    • No deal based on that I think.

    • +7

      To be clear its

      Days redeemable:
      Monday - Thursday.
      -After 3pm Sunday.

So not usable on friday, saturday and 12:01am -> 2:59pm sunday

      • +1

Yeah just saw that, pretty average

That should be in the OP

        • +1

yeah thanks Jofzar and spackbace, I tried add to cart then saw the line, I didn't go scout the FAQ.

    • Thanks for sharing, yeah this is a deal breaker. @OP should add this to the post

  • +12

I’m always impressed how my local B Lucky accurately captures all the misery of being at the casino with none of the actual gambling

  • These venues are in Qld, but I can't see if this pass is available here. Am I missing something obvious?

    • Id like to know too

      1. Applicable at Holey Moley, Strike, Archie Brothers and B. Lucky & Sons venues across Australia

This is from the T&C which is all I could find (didn't look much though tbh)

    • I just bought mine for Queensland. Family pass

  • +8

The value has deteriorated quite a bit for Vic. You can only book for up to 4 people each booking. The monthly price has gone up and the number of activities has gone down.

  • How does the family pass work? Can i use it with wider family & friends as long as I (the pass holder) is there with ID?

    • +2

They dont even check id. Just need to make the booking and enter the funpass id

      • I gave 4 kids - could we go as a family if 6 or will that not work?

        • +2

Won't work for bowling, mini golf or laser tag anymore, as they have now limited each booking to 4 activity allocations, so 2 of your family members would be sitting out.
However, karaoke is booked by the room not by the person so all 6 of you could do that at once.

  • honestly this is a pretty good deal even if you just like holey moley, it's like 30$ for 18 holes

    • +1

Would be a good deal if you were going on a weekday after 3. Most people go there on Friday or the weekend

      • +2

I think its only after 3pm on Sunday.
        Mon-Thurs should be all day

  • Bit confused, so the $39 is single, so even if you redeemed the arcade passes etc the other ones Im guessing wont work if you want to share it with family? And I'm guessing you'd have to do $99 one?

Also what, do you just simply get the 1 month then cancel right away?

    • You can its just the package name.

  • Seems their HO is in VIC, but no deal or pass for VIC. Such a shame.

    • They have the same deal available in VIC as well. They launched v1.0 and v2.0 in Victoria.

They’ve now moved on to v3.0 (imo the v2.0 was the best) in VIC and have started rolling the same in other states.

  • Can i gift this to someone and also when purchasing, do we need to choose the month or can it be purchased and used any month?

    • Starts immediately as soon as you subscribe, and auto renews the same calendar date the following month unless you cancel.

  • +6

They increased the price from $79 to $99 and removed a lot of inclusions as of last month. 16 games of bowling removed from Archie Brothers was a huge blow.

Would rejoin if they bring it back

  • Arcade games includes games which win points and prizes?

    • Nope

      • +1

But there are barely any non prize games 😛

        • The previous funpass I got can be used for bumper car, but not the new VR game.
Not really sure about this funpass

  • +5

Can single pass be shared with two people?

    • +3

Yes you can book up to 4 activity allocations at a time, e.g. use 4 allocations to book 2 games of bowling each for 2 people.

      • +1

Just wondering if this is still confirmed for the single pass? So for example, if you book Holey moley, can two people play?

  • Can you use it on one single day or there are restrictions?

    Strike Bowling:

    4 x games of bowling
2 x game of laser tag
    1 x hour of karaoke

    • +1

You can only book up to 4 activity allocations per booking (e.g. 2 people playing 2 games of bowling each). They also reserve the right to cancel if you have multiple bookings in the same day (to get around this). Much worse value now.

      • Aha ok :(.. Yeah that's not good

      • so for a FAMILY PASS i can't used all 6 booking of bowling or laser tag at once?

        • -1

no, can only book 4 on family pass

  • +1

Walking past Holey Moley in Forest Hill VIC I noticed it was happy hour and thought a $9 Margy might be nice , barman wasnt sure how to make a marguarita (!) so called over his manager who showed him the tap that the margs come out of (!!) , he then added 3 ice cubes to my warm glass and handed me what looked like a room temperature glass of piss (!!!) Very glad to find this out on a chance encounter rather than when visiting in the hope of having some fun.

    • +3

There's no Holey Moley in Forest Hill VIC

      • You're right , my bad , same concept but shittier brand !

  • i cant see any black out periods for school holidays - can anyone confirm they've seen exclusions for holidays or otherwise confirm it can be used?

    • -5

i cant see any black out periods

The venues will not be open during black outs.

    • In the VIC version of this deal, there are no black out periods for school holidays, and lots of people have used it during school holidays, just with the same restrictions on days of the week.

      • Is this deal applicable for Vic, or is there a separate deal?

        • Same deal, previously only available in VIC.

  • +1

    How is this a deal?

This is their normal price for the fun pass.

And the fun pass used to be $150 for 3 months or $450 for a YEAR for 2 games of bowling for TWO people DAILY / 2 x 9 holes of HM for TWO people DAILY / 2 hours of B Lucky and Sons, 2 games of laser tag etc.

This is a horribly high price.

  • +2

Can I take a friend with me if I buy the single pass? It says "Fun Pass membership to be used by membership account and pass holders only, not shared with friends and family."…

    • I take the comment is regarding giving the card to family and friends to use. Taking people with you should be perfectly fine.

  • Curious how the karaoke works specifically - Strike charge $100 for the room for 1 hour. If 1 person has the pass and 1 doesn't, or 2 do and one doesn't etc, is there an extra charge and how is it calculated?

    • +3

You get the room and can bring as many people as the room holds.

  • This would have been handy in the middle of winter.

  • +1

Wow… this is perfect if you are on Tinder/dating apps. Line up the dates while it's cheap.

  • +1

Does anyone know when this starts?
I want a month but want it for Xmas gifts not from when I pay.
"Your next billing will be 1 calendar month from today"
Leads me to believe it starts immediately. Not a future date the receiver can decide on.

    • Correct. It is a monthly subscription that starts as soon as you pay and auto renews every month until you cancel.

    • Same lol

  • We used this in Victoria in the July school holidays. Got so much value out of it. My kids are so sick of mini golf and bowling now!

    • I got the family pass in Oct for a month - my kids are also sick of mini golf and bowling lol.

Will probably join again next year sometime.

      • +1

I still can't understand it. Can a family of 3 with family pass only play 3 bowling games a day or can also play 3 lazer games along with bowling?
I mean can they each do 2 activities?

  • For VIC is only the activities on Strike?

  • So from comments it's seems like this isn't deallt that great? Vic.

Suggestions for anything else like this?

  • +1

I live in Melb. just called 1300787453, which was strike's phone number to ask if we can bring friends on the SINGLE PASS and this is what they said:

STRIKE Karaoke: Yes, since you're booking the whole room. Can bring up to the room limit. (max 25 people at QV and Highpoint. ONLY 2 microphones and can't request for more unfortunately lol)

HOLY MOLEY Karaoke: Yes, since you're booking the whole room. Can bring up to the room limit. (max 20 people at melb cbd)

STRIKE Bowling, Laser Tag: No (4 games for the account holder only)

HOLY MOLEY Mini Golf: No (4 rounds for the account holder only)

B.LUCKY & ARCHIE Arcade: YES. Several friends can play on 1 card. Your 1hr time limit starts from first tap.

    For the FAMILY PASS:

e.g. Bowling: If 4 people are playing, it counts 1 game per person. so 12 - 4 would leave you with 8 games left. Same with Laser Tag, Mini Golf.
You can choose to only book for yourself, and guests buy their own ticket separately.

Karaoke and Arcade is the same as above.
If your group is small when playing at the Arcade, might be wiser to use 1 time card at a time to stretch out the time you get.

called funlab's phone number (03) 9425 2000, but no one answered and it kept looping their auto message. same with b.lucky 1300 058 259.
