    Legion 7i, nice
    Display: 16.0" WQXGA (2560x1600) IPS 500nits Anti-glare, 165Hz, 100% sRGB, Dolby Vision, HDR 400, G-Sync, DC dimmer
    Graphics: NVIDIA® GeForce RTX™ 3070 8GB GDDR6, Boost Clock 1560 / 1620MHz, TGP 140W

    • +1

The 16GB RAM and 1TB SSD is nice too considering a lot of others have half that on both

      • Don't forget Thunderbolt 4, upgradeable RAM and dual SSD slots. Can confirm it is a great laptop, with one caveat: it is better thought of as a desktop replacement because battery life is poor.

        • Would U say it's hefty? 7 is supposed to be slimmer than the 5 pro?

          • +2

@agalea101: It is hefty for sure, but I guess not excessively so for such a powerful and large laptop (it has a 16" screen after all). Not sure how it compares to Legion 5 Pro, but I would not recommend this if you are going to be lugging it to office regularly.

            • +4

@findingbargains: I went with the Legion 7 over a smaller laptop purely for the extra calories burnt from carrying it around. Great way to stay fit lol

        • I'm guessing this comes with the 230W brick too? I've got an older Legion, has to tip the scales at > 1 kg.

          • @hughc: My 7i came with a 300w brick but I bought a 230w one subsequently just for those times I was going to take it to the office - to my surprise and disappointment 230w and 300w bricks are more or less the same size.

    • +1

Not a deal breaker but something to be aware of. This is the Gen 6 with Intel 11th gen and the bad Corsair RGB software with the battery drain issue. The software can be disabled at the expense of some customizability of the RGB, but it is a pain and easier if you're a tech person.

    • But Price wise is it decent? how is this compare to a GeForce RTX Desktop build on the same price point?

  • Hi dealbot,
Just out of curiosity, why are you actively promoting BAM when you yourself kicked and blocked me from BAM and when I asked you why through a dm on OzBargain (eventually also blocking me on here too from dms), this was what you sent me:

Hi, people have complained about me or others trying to get people to join BAM intentionally or not. As a result, I’m trying to distance BAM from Ozbargain as much as I can so I’m be working on removing all references Andy links to ozbargain where I can.

@dealbot can you knock down their 230 watt docking as well 😀

  • +2

Good price for Legion 5 Pro. I bought the same model on BF ($1599 plus 15% cashback and $136 Lenovo "my rewards") for one of my family members, mainly for the screen quality, not for gaming at all. Own another Legion 7 Gen6, and really enjoyed the display.

    • Would you say the legion 5 pro be good enough for someone doing graphics design. Was concerned about the screen res and colour reproduction.

      Also hows the battery life?

      • I think the screen is one of the best I’ve seen, comparable to mac’s. For graphic design you might need to either calibrate the screen or purchase an external monitor specifically for graphic design.

        • Thanks good to know.

      • +2

Pretty much the same as Flight88 said. Legion 5 Pro/7 does come with factory calibration profiles within the bundled X-Rite software, and you can recover the individual-based profile from their server if you reinstall the system and lost the initial profile, just redownload the X-Rite from the Lenovo website and it will ask you to recover the profile based on SN. The sRGB is pretty accurate from what I could feel. I own an i1 display pro and calibrated my 4K monitor based on D65 white point. Legion 5 Pro and 7's sRGB profile colour is very close to my manually re-calibrated PG27UQ monitor.
However, you do need to manually select the sRGB profile (or AdobeRGB, etc. if you know what you are doing) in X-Rite. The default can be over-saturated for web content because it is a wide gamma display.

How about some normal Lenovo laptops? I want the Ideapad Slim 5 pro pls.

  • Thank you again, @Dealbot for another excellent deal! One question: Can we purchase extra warranty through this eBay deal? Thank you

    • +1

You can buy extra warranty thru lenovo website

      • hijacking this for a (stupid) question: Ive got my legion 7i today, it came with a premium care support which includes on site/next day repair blah, I am looking into extending it with a cheaper option (mailed to repair) but seems lenovo does not allow me to purchase the "downgraded" warranty as extension, instead I can only extend the premium care warranty which is aroung $170 a year. Is there any way that I can get a cheaper warranty following the end of my premium warranty? anyone has experience?

        • +1

My experience with Lenovo when trying to purchase or negotiate warranty extension AFTER a product was purchased is negative. They pretty much ignore you when trying to negotiate. The only option seems to be to either take advantage of any support upgrade discounts (not always particularly good) when purchasing a laptop, or pay the exorbitant upgrade / extension fees they demand after purchase. I am going to be relying on statutory warranty rights we have in Australia which is based on expectation of reasonable durability of a product regardless if it is under a manufacturer warranty or not.

  • Anyone know if the legion 7 has thunderbolt? Description says only selected skus have it :/

    • +2

These are the specs for the same SKU
      https://www.lenovo.com/au/en/p/laptops/legion-laptops/legion-7-series/legion-7i-gen-6-(16-inch-intel)/82k60073au

It does appear to have 2 TB4 ports.

  • +2

The 7 is tempting but still keen to see the 12th gen and 3070ti drop. Black Friday was hugely disappointing on 7s

    • +2

my thoughts exactly. but then even latest 5i with these specs was 2.8k

  • +2

    What discount gift cards?

    • Wanting to know this too 😂

  • New Legion 7 sale is always nice to see

  • +2

Hey OP, any deals on Gen 7 Legions?

  • Got the Legion 5 pro ryzen 7 32gb ram, 1tb SSD 3070 for $2100 few months back, very happy with the laptop. Got the 135w slim charger the other day for lighter on the go vs the stock 300w one

    • Have you tried the 135W charger? I couldn't get it to work, I had to use a 230W.
Funnily enough a 65W USB-C charger does work.

      • So far my 65w powerbank and the 95w USB-C charger works albeit at a slower rate.

That 300w brick certainly is value if you NEVER have to lug it around.

      • When did you try? There was a bios update released beginning of this month that added support for it, that's when I ordered mine, haven't got it yet

        • Ah, I tried it ages ago now, when I first got it around the middle of 2021.

          • @coxymla: Yeah should definitely work now after updating your bios

    • from where u got that deal? so i can lookout for it in the future

  • Can anyone confirm that that Ryzon version will support Dell thunderbolt dock with 2x 4K monitors with power delivery to laptop? I'd love to know from someone with experience. Apparently thunderbolt is an Intel thing but I can't help but hoping AMD would have implemented something to be competitive in that front.

    • I don’t know for Ryzen however I’d like to share my experience with intel ones charging through thunderbolt: it just charges sometimes and sometimes stops. When it charges it’s super slow as well and can stop at any % or let battery drain, even when lid closed. I wouldn’t relying on it, and had to carry the huge charger everywhere still, could be just my machine’s problem tho.

      • My experience with Dell xps (Intel) is great with thunderbolt. It charges and does everything it supposed to do, just need to hook up one cable and my entire set up hooked up to the doc works a treat. This is one of the reasons I'm still hesitant to move to AMD in case if that setup doesn't work, all my investments on thunderbolt dock and peripherals go in vane.

    • I doubt very much that it will work.

Some Dell TB docks do work in Alt Mode but I doubt they have the bandwidth for 2x 4K.

      • That's a real shame. So basically any laptop even with latest Ryzon processors don't utilise full potential of the USB C ports. I really looked forward to try Ryzon but this is big deal breaker for me unfortunately. Guess I'll have to stick with Intel for now.

    • No

  • looking for a lenovo slim 7 prox deal

    • Same here! Doesn't seem like a popular model though so I'm not holding my breath

      • I can get one for around 1900-2000 through the lenovo education store. but was hoping for a better deal. Maybe there might be some more deals around boxing day.

  • thank you mr. dealbot

  • legion 5pro or 7i for gaming purpose ? Anyone can advise ?

    • +2

7i for sure, the 3050Ti is not a very powerful GPU especially for a 1600p screen.

      • Ok so then desktop gpu equivalent of what though.

    • +1

7i for certain if you can spare the cash for it

  • Hi dealbot
Any chance to get a deal on mini or small pcs for work?

  • Anyone know how much cash back for Lenovo ?TIA.

  • +4

If this were 12th Gen or even a 3060 in the cheaper unit, I'd be all over it

  • Just need the laptop for Dota 2 and light photoshop/illustrator. Which should I go for?

    • If you are on budget, the ideapad 5i should be enough.

      • How much is the ideapad 5i? Worth the extra for the Lenovo Legion 5 Pro?

  • I am getting "This code can't be applied to your order." message. Any ideas.?

  • Thanks Dealbot. Bought 7i from your Facebook link.

  • +4

3050ti why…. If only it was 3060, it be happier, a that's my baseline for looking at a gaming laptop.

  • I wouldn't buy from Lenovo if you paid me.

  • +2

Made a rookie mistake waiting to snag the 7i, sold out. RIP

    • +2

yeah i've done the same thing. I've been thinking about it way too long… and now sold out… and now fomo.

      6 people purchased today.

    • +4

Same here… just think we saved some money and hopefully there will be better deals in the future

      • +1

        cries, in savings

      • +3

Just as the sun will rise again, there will be another Lenovo deal on OzB

        • +1

Only if you pinky promise that there will be would i believe you.

          • +1

@xoom: Pinky promises are the only promises I make

    • +4

no its the other way around you just saved $ not buying anything.

You don't need it, you only wanted it

      You can live without one.

Have that mindset don't buy impulsively

      • But this is ozb.

<insert buy all the things meme here>

      • My PC is going on 13 year's old and BSODing daily, I've been patient enough :)

  • Is Lenovo Legion 5 Pro RAM and SSD upgradeable?

On Lenovo website it says 1 x 16gb RAM but on Ebay it says 2 x 8gb RAM anyone clarify which is correct please

    • It comes with 2 x 8GB sticks. Confirmed by checking the part number on the Lenovo Product Specifications Reference site.

      • Thanks fastnet, not sure how to read ram but is it upgradable and what’s the max? 🙏

        • +1

Yes, it's upgradable. Officially up to 32GB RAM is supported however 64GB also seems to work fine based on user reports on forums etc.

  • Anything coming up for school based laptops? Need to get 16gig ram 512ssd for daughter next year ideally in 14" size so its easy to carry around

  • +2

Hi Dealbot, can we expect more Legion 7i back in stock any time soon?

    • +2

      Interested in this too

      • +1

Theres one in stock again now! Get in quick.

        • I refreshed at the right time. Managed to snag one.
          All gone again

          • +1

@FireRunner: Just refreshed and added one again, lol.

            • +1

@derekek: I messaged them earlier today, and they said there'll put 2-3 more left back in stock, and told me to watch out for it via watch list.
And i just missed out again when i was paying for it. lol. far out. not be meant to be.

          • @FireRunner: Damn it… I am busy at work and didn't have time to check again :(

            • +1

@Ozico: Let that be a lesson to you. Quit your job and be a professional ozbargainer.

              /s

              • @xoom: I guess you will be then paying for my ozbargaining ;)

                • @Ozico: If its through jobseeker… then yes you could be right. I will be paying part of your ozbargaining.

    • Not sure if you'll see this but theirs one left

      • +1

        And its gone

        • Yep, what a ride

  • Is the RAM upgradeable and / or replaceable in the Legion line of laptops?

    • +1

      Of course mate

  • I think something fishy is happening for the case of Legion 7i. I myself saw around 10 available units around/before 7 am. As per the selling activity on eBay page, only one unit sold near that time. Where went the other 9/10 units. I was having a close view on these BTW.

    • Same sku was also listed on the lenovo website, could be that the rest was sold on there and they then updated the stock levels on ebay?

  • +3

Just a note there's a bug in the services installed for the iCue software on the 7i that causes laptop to pull a constant 30+ watts extra power and will knock several hours off the battery life. If you google it you can find work arounds, but you'll be left with a static RGB color. As Lenovo moved away from the iCue software and the issue has been around since the laptop was released 1.5 years ago, I doubt it will ever be fixed. Just a note in case anyone experiences terrible battery life that you can fix it with some sacrifices.

    • Thanks for the heads up. Will definitely wait for a Gen7 deal.
