is this compatible with the PS5 nvme expansion slot? Thanks

Technically it'll work but it's below spec & you'd need a heatsink which is another $10 to $20. Not really worth it when on sale you can pick up a 2TB spec drive for about $315.

    Appreciate the comparison table

The table is a bit biased. For an E16 based SSD, the endurance rating isn't that great. Both Gigabyte and PNY E16 ones are 3600 TB (same as Seagate 520). With a small dynamic SLC cache, it doesn't need to worry too much about slow recovery. Sustained write is decent for E16 based SSDs, but subpar compared to E18, Samsung or WD offerings. If the SLC dynamic cache is at most 64GB, then it is disappointing. As usual, the sustained write of E16 SSDs cannot beat flagship PCIe gen 3 SSDs. No surprise here.

Most E16 SSDs have unusually high endurance rating. It's mostly just based on number of spare cells. Price is good, but performance wise, it isn't top notch PCIe gen 4. Also, Sony fixed the initial speed test so E16 SSDs can no longer cheat in the read test anymore.

    • Thats M390 though, not M470

      • hah yeah you're right - so easy to mix up between these two.

Spatium would be a great name for a titanium spatula
