it will be next year ofc

but you can expect 5~10% discount sometimes soon

    • Yeah, don't mind an Ultra at a good price.

Currently using a Garmin Fenix 6, after previous Series 3 cracked. Ultra looks much more durable.

Got Ultra for $1050 after 15% off gift cards and jb taking $20 off and a $10 perks.

        • Do you like it? Notice the extra weight?

@ChickenTalon: Sorry it was about $40 off jb they gave.

Yeah I love it. Suits me well coming from wearing a gshock all my life. Also comes standard with sapphire glass and titanium case and cellular.

            • @iNeed2Pee:

              $40 off jb they gave.

I bought it for almost the same price as you (-) JB $50 discount (+) discounted eBay gift cards. XMASZIP eBay flash sale.

Just curious how did you manage that $40 discount from JB Hi-Fi? I hope you didn't have to pee to make that deal. :)

Oh no….and my partner really likes red, she got the green from JB Hifi. I know there are bands, but still.

    • is the green really obvious on that model? Do you think a black replacement band will dull down the green?

    • Can you exchange? Apple store lets you refund within 14 days, not sure about 3rd party sellers.

  • 45mm GPS+Cellular also showing as $528? (At JB)

  • How does the ‘cellular’ works? is it possible to use cellular if I’m with Aldi Mobile or Boost Mobile?

    • No, only post-paid plans on Telstra, Optus and Voda. Once you're on an eligible plan you can set it up from your phone.

Edit: the operators have restricted eSIM access to the MVNOs like Boost and Aldi, and the Apple Watch doesn't have room for a physical SIM card.

      • @casualusercts
Pls correct me, are you saying: I can only use cellular on my "cellular Apple Watch" if my iPhone is on a Telstra/Optus/Voda postpaid?

        • I think you need to get an esim for the watch. If you want to use the watch as cellular, independent of a phone.

        • Yes, this is correct

        • woolworth mobile has esim, should work?

        • Well, you can also setup the watch as a standalone device using "family setup" see more here https://support.apple.com/en-au/HT211768.

Only one provider can do this in Australia currently, which is Truphone (they use the vodaphone network). https://www.truphone.com/consumer/esim-for-watch/.

The watch then ends up with its own mobile phone number, so generally you would do this for someone who doesn't own a mobile phone (like young kids).

      • Also it costs extra to have a number with two sims for Apple Watch and phone. I know Telstra costs $5/month for what they called a Apple One Number

      • What’s Mvnos?

Bought 45mm Cellular yesterday for $501.60 from Officeworks price matching JB Hi-Fi and paid with discounted ultimate gift cards from Aus Post deal

Well it’s a great way to clear their stock of Apple Watch 7s. They all sold out like hot cakes. I got one 45mm midnight gps also even though I couldn’t use my ultimate gift cards.

    • why could you not use them?

  • I picked up a Stainless Steel 45mm 7 series for $788. Thanks to my health insurer, it was about $600 out of pocket thanks to gift cards. Should be a nice upgrade from my S4.

    • hmmm interesting. Do many health funds offer a rebate for wearables?

    • That's nice. Which health fund is that?

      • +1

HCF. They recently sent a $160 'giveback' voucher for JB HiFi. This is not normal - first time in a decade insuring with them…but I'll take it.

They also offer ongoing discounts on gift cards, including JB, Harvey Norman, Amazon, Good Guys…etc. Normally 5% (minus 1% transaction fee) but sometimes up to 10%. Especially good are their discounts on Gold Class cinemas, which is like 40% all the time.

        • That's cool. Thanks mate

  • super random question but when you unboxed your watch, what about it seemed new? I just unboxed mine and there was no film on the outside, and I can't think of anything I did that I couldn't box it back up again, and it's not turning on, something makes me feel like it's been opened before - am I being paranoid?

    • Is the watch in the original apple box? Is it Australian stock?
If battery health < 100, it might be a refurbished product?

    • Probably a customer return, I'd take it back to where you got it from.

    • there are seals on both sides of the box. I unboxed mine today, the main watch was sitting in a black cover.

      • Was purchased via amazon It was in an apple box, battery was completely flat (snake of death). There were seals but I accidentally pealed them off rather than ripped them
