All these different "discounts" only mean that the original prices are over-inflated!

    • +2

Get 2x 2L milk for $5.50. Cheaper than at supermarket now and you'll save a couple dollars for $5 spend

      • +2

Unless prices are a lot cheaper in VIC but my local ampol has increased 2x2L milk to $6.50.

        • +3

Assume you get to use all 4L of milk, the breakeven point is only 6 litres of fuel though.

  • Do they have the same offer for RACQ Members?

    • +1

In the past RACQ had a discount at a different petrol station chain. I think it was Liberty.

      • Thanks for your reply.
RACQ "different petrol station chain" was Puma now rebranded Caltex which offers 4 Cents/Litre off only.
What I was after was the same offer 13 Cents/Litre discount offer.

    • +2

Only RACV and RAA have discount offers with EG Ampol.

(You can read more about it here.)

      • +2

        Thanks

      • Canberra airport is on their list, maybe the list is out of date? Had 10c/l discount via NRMA in July which I used there, none since.

        • +1

          I’m confused.

          Are you referring to:

          • EG Ampol Canberra Airport - the fuel station in between Costco and Bunnings

          • Ampol Foodary Canberra Airport - the fuel station next to the Vibe Hotel

This deal is for EG Ampol, so you can use the RACV discount at EG Ampol Canberra Airport, but not at Ampol Foodary Canberra Airport.

That 10c/L NRMA discount you are referring to is only for participating Ampol locations, and that is not available at any EG Ampol locations. The NRMA website still lists Ampol Foodary Canberra Airport as a participating location for the NRMA discount.

          • +1

@WookieMonster: Lol, didn't actually zoom in enough on the map and forgot about the "costco" Ampol/Caltex/Ww. Thanks for clarifying.

    • I noticed on the weekend that RACQ have 3% off EG Ampol egift cards

      • If you could somehow source Wish gift cards at a higher %, do that instead as EG accepts those as well..

    • +1

RACQ has a partnership with Caltex/Chevron and offers the 4c discounts at Caltex and Puma Energy stations. There have been recent reports that Caltex/Chevron have been recently off-loading some franchised Puma outlets. Taking into consideration Chevron stated they were rebranding 'selected' Puma Energy sites to Caltex.

RACQ's website has been updated to say they offer the discount at 'participating' Puma Energy and new Caltex locations.

      • Filled up with diesel at a Puma rebranded Caltex today on Beaudesert Rd which accepted the RACQ card 4c discount.

  • +1

Save up to 13c/L? Sounds like Ampol have been colluding with ING with all those flaming hoops and bars

  • +2

Does this stack with Origin Energy fuel discount?

    • +3

      I would say no.

There are three different types of fuel discounts you can access at EG Ampol one of each of these in the same transaction:

      1. Woolworths fuel vouchers: these give you a 4c/L discount. (NOTE: at Tasmanian EG locations, you will get an additional 2c/L discount when redeeming a Woolworths fuel voucher.)

      2. EG Club or Partner discounts: these give you a 4c/L, 5c/L or 6c/L discount, but these discounts are generally can only be used once or once per day.

      3. Spend instore offer: this gives you a 4c/L discount if you spend $5 or more on eligible items in the convenience store.

You cannot stack an EG Club discount with an Origin Energy discount, which makes me think you cannot stack any EG Club or Partner discounts together in the same transaction (e.g. RACV + Origin Energy).

Hopefully this promotion helps Ampol's bottom line.
They must be struggling since they paid zero tax in FY2020-21 on $20 billion income

    • +1

It'll likely help EG more than Ampol. Ampol is only a fuel provider to the EG-owned stations.

  • +2

If you aren't an RACV member, you can download the arevo app and get 4 cents instead of 5 cents off (i.e. up to 12c in total).

We’ve just completed an exciting upgrade on the arevo app… meaning you can now save 4¢ on every litre, every day with our newly improved fuel finder!

FFS you have to open a webpage and then enter your RACV member number every time you want to generate a barcode ??

Have these clowns ever heard of an iphone app that you could login to and store your details ?

    • Have these clowns ever heard of an iphone app that you could login to and store your details ?

What about people who don't use fruit as a phone?

    • Just an additional idea for your app: A map of where we can find these "EG" stores.

      • +1

        https://www.eg-australia.com/eg-store-locator/

They will mostly comprise of the former 'Woolworths Caltex' locations alongside the new locations EG opened after they took over the former Woolworths Caltex stations.

        • Thank you, the map (while poorly designed) even has the current prices at each location.

What's the difference between EG Ampol and a 'normal' Ampol?

Hardly any EG ones around here…

    • +1

Its the stations that was formally fully owned by Woolworths. Woolies tend to build them in specific socio economic areas. EG is the new british owners of the whole group and they are still using Ampol for fuel supplier.

      • +1

Funny that Euro Garage was suing Caltex Australia for not disclosing Chevron was about to end the licence to use the Caltex branding, now they happily associate themselves with Ampol (who was Caltex they were suing).

  • Can this be used along with EG app discount (5c) + Everyday rewards (4c) = total of 14c/L?

  • Trying to snag some of the 7/11 loyalists. 😂😂 Goooood luck!!!

  • +1

my nrma is offering 5 cents off at certain ampol fuel stations for members and their membership is free for the first year
