Thanks. Was in need, this will stop the kids stealing my eneloops

Just get rechargeable AA's. Why lock yourself to batteries that only work on a single device. Yes, you can recharge AA's in an Xbox controller.

    • Wait what? I can plug in my controller and my LADDA batteries will charge?

      • +2

Seems wrong to me, how would the Xbox controller know to charge rechargeable AA's and not to charge regular single use AA's?

        • Yeah seems wrong to me too. I'm pretty sure the plug & charge kits have additional pins which wouldn't be needed if OP is right.

          • @loksmack: Yeah think I'll pick up one of these then. Was very surprised by that.

      • No I don't think so

    • Post above gives a pretty good reason

    • I was under the impression they don't for Xbox controller

    • 1100mah (these) vs 1800+mah for eneloops

So about half the play time with these. Thats a selling point for parents

I swear there’s some secret cult on here for recharge AA batteries. Always pushing them on people.

      • More eneloops for us then.

      • Take the price of a normal battery and divide it by how many times it gets used.

Take the price of a rechargeable battery and divide it by how many times it gets used. You can quickly see how people can prefer them, especially over a proprietary battery that only works with one device.

    Thanks OP!

Looks alright for the price. I went with this one just chuck them on the stand and they charge. The lights (red for charging, green for charged, no light if they're not sitting right) tell you if they're sitting right, but they naturally sit in the right position. Looks good too. Bit more expensive though.

    • Have this one as well. Works great.

I know how much you guys love landfill. Here's a charging dock.

    1 Dual Charging Station
    2 rechargeable batteries
2 battery doors for Xbox Series X|S controller
2 battery doors for Xbox One controller
    1 AC adaptor

    • I’ve been using the same rechargeable batteries for 9 years since the Xbox One, now on the XSX, which is much less landfill than probably a hundred AA batteries.

      • Ok but rechargeable AAs would have accomplished the same thing but can also be used in a anything else.

        • I bought it for the back covers since ive seen alot of cheap ones go on fb marketplace without a back cover

  • These are 1100mAh. You're better off getting Eneloops or Ladda batteries. e.g. at 2450mAh each, i.e. they would last 4x longer than this.

    • I'm fairly sure the cells in these are Li-ion, meaning they have a higher voltage and therefore higher capacity than Eneloops.

This is why battery capacity should be measured in Wh.

No dock though, you have to plug them in like a peasant

  • Just showed as in stock for me now and managed to grab a set…

  • Since when does eBay sellers not cancel orders after payment is processed? Tried to cancel and both eBay and seller refused. It's not even shipped

    • +1

Yeah eBay is shit with that. I tried to cancel a Peter's of Kensington order under 2 minutes of ordering and the seller just ignored the request until it had already been delivered days later then declined it.

Just like all problems with eBay, the experience is only as good as the shitty seller allows. Compared to Prime where you don’t deal with the seller, just Amazon.

      • Yeah it sucks ATM. No more eBay for me I guess

My experience this year is otherwise. Amazon support is poorly trained and informed to deal with shipping issues in their system. A high value item I ordered showed the status "Arriving Today" everyday for an entire week. When I finally enquired, Amazon support told me to wait, when I pushed further several times, changed their tune and said since it's past the "guaranteed delivery" date, they cannot reorder (wtf it meant) and deliver even though the item still shown in stock with status for next day delivery. They insisted that I cancel and reorder again, they will make a note and sure it won't happen again, so I did. Guess what, the same thing happened again, and when I enquired, I was told to wait for it… useless, either speaking from the same template or making up misleading advices to get you off the chat….

It's pretty smart of Amazon. With eBay you have to think carefully before you buy. Amazon you can just hit the button. It means I buy first think later with Amazon, then forget about it (if I'm really not sure I use a card with no money on it and think about it when payment declines). With eBay I think first, then forget about it before buying. Especially if it's during the work day.
