Taipei, Taiwan with Cebu Pacific from $203 One Way, $382 Return (Fly July to Oct) @ Beat That Flight

220

After the Tokyo deal yesterday, found a cracking rate to Taipei on Cebu Pacific. It's a low cost airline, cheap and cheerful.

We're seeing accommodation in Taipei from $23 a night

Tip: go to a night market and try the hot and stinky tofu :D (it's fermented)

Here’s a weather guide for Taiwan
Taiwan in Summer Monsoon Season (July to September)

If you want to face mother nature head on see what you’re made of, come to Taiwan in summer. Soaring temperatures combined with crushing humidity result in sauna-like conditions that people seem to love or hate (most locals hate it, myself included).

    • +1

I've only been in August, loved it. Although hot stinky tofu wasn't perhaps the best choice in the humid evening :)

    • +2

Lived there in the past and miss summer weather there, beats the hell out of Melbourne summers.

    • Deals come with reasons.

  • +4

Aw man I miss Taipei - such an amazing city!

  • Does a cheap and cheerful airline mean safe and alive with baggage not lost 🤔

    • The airline as well as the airport is among the worst in the world.

  • +1

Had my flights cancelled last minute.
Not worth it if your timetable is not flexible.
Ended up wasting so much time preparing for trip.

Really good reminder for the cheap flights/airlines. Thanks

Thanks OP. Taipei is a awesome city and Taiwan awesome country. So tempting to visit again

Taiwan is not a country, mind your words

      • +2

        Actually

        Lets see

        1. settled population - tick
        2. defined territory - tick
        3. government - tick
        4. The ability to enter into relations with other states - tick (be it limited in number)

It is not a recognised nation state by the UN and most other UN members - but this does not mean it's not a country.

        • You forgot;

          1. Constitution - tick
          2. Democratically elected President - tick
          3. Self administering - tick
          4. Constituents have their own passport (was ROC Taiwan, now just states Taiwan for less confusion). tick
          5. Copped the raw end of the "One China Policy" when traditionally known as The Republic of China.

Ive always wanted to go to Taipei. Looks amazing. Just a matter of time before its flattened by china.

    • lol

I booked flights for March and have absolutely zero knowledge about Taiwan - can't wait!!!

    • +2

You will seriously love it. Taipei is an amazing city if you just want to stay there but it is also easy to travel on the east or west coast too and see some amazing natural wonders. We loved Taroko Gorge & Alishan Mountain. Have an awesome trip!

Thanks for the recommendations. I'll have to do some research for sure. I definitely like to stay on the move and not just stay in major cities. I've got 2weeks there :)

        • perfect Dz93, 2 weeks will be amazing. The fast train takes you down the East Coast easily at 300km/h. Also, one of my favourite activities was going to a CPBL baseball game. They are super popular and have an amazing atmoshphere. It is a really local thing to do and I'v never seen it promoted as a tourist activity, but it really is fun.

As I’ve said before, it’s the best of the rest of Asia combined in one country
