Copied without "-" initially hence the app was a bit lost. Hope my account won't be picked up

  • +1

how does this chopper/pin thing work?

Wondering the same thing, I'm a first timer.

You can use an iphone to fake your location so the app thinks you're close to the cheap petrol station. You then lock it in at the lower price, and can get fuel cheap.

        • I understand the concept, was more looking for a tutorial, seems it was linked below. But thank you anyway and Happy Holidays! :)

        • Not for android?

          • @chintu123: You can do it on Android too but it’s a much more involved process and the setup is different between phone models.

You will need to unlock the bootloader (doing this will wipe your phone, boot locker unlock not available from all manufacturers) and root your phone then install the mock location hiding method and the modules so that apps don’t detect your root access.

It’s easier to just buy a 2nd hand iPhone to use for the locks.

        • Hi atlas, can you also send me a step by step guide if you're able to :)

          • +7

@emilytsay1207: Hi emily, I can't send you a pm due to your account settings. I don't know if it's against the rules to post my step by step guide here, but I'll give it a shot and hope it's ok.

For iPhone, the way I do it is I download an application to run on my PC - this one: https://github.com/master131/iFakeLocation/releases - grab this version:
ifakelocation-v1.7.0-windows-x86-x64.zip I use the PC version, but if you have an iPad etc, you might want to look at the assets under the 1.6.0 version to see if you can get the relevant version there.

Extract the zip and run iFakeLocation.exe.

This will launch in your browser.

Connect your iPhone to the PC and click 'refresh' on the iFakeLocation browser page above the map.

Choose your phone in the 'device name'.

In the location search under the map, enter the suburb and state of the cheapest fuel (use https://projectzerothree.info/ to get this).

Click search. Once loaded, hit 'set fake location'.

Use fuel lock in app, and it should work. Once locked, hit 'stop fake location' in iFakeLocation and that's it :)

Hope that makes sense. Looks like a lot, but it's really easy!

            • @generalpayne: Can you lock in cheap fuel on a PC or you need to use a phone?

            • @generalpayne: Brilliant! Thank you for taking the time to share.

            • @generalpayne: How long does the first time take to load? I've clicked on Set Fake Location but nothing has happened.

              • @10wickedwingspls: Doesn't take long - a few seconds. Are you sure you've refreshed at the top and selected your phone? Then search the location you want to use for 711. Once you've searched the location, then click 'set fake location'

              • @10wickedwingspls: how did you go? Having same issue after all the setup

            • @generalpayne: Hey mate. thanks a lot but i got ifakeloc open on Mac and allowed via privacy. still says developer not verified by apple. any clues?

              • @zhk89: Not too sure, but sounds like a Mac problem - not this app specifically. Check this out if it helps: https://www.macworld.com/article/672947/how-to-open-a-mac-ap…

                • @generalpayne: thanks. solved that issue. now just not picking up that location in the app. have refreshed device and selected. set fake loc done.

                  • @zhk89: Hmm, not too sure on that one sorry. It should be that you select the device at the top, enter the suburb etc of the location you want. Press search and ensure the map updates to this location. Then you set fake location and it should say it's successful. Then it should work in the app. Maybe have a read here in case others have a similar issue, but since I use PC, I'm not sure of Mac issues sorry https://github.com/master131/iFakeLocation/issues. There's also a comment on the guthub website saying: " For existing macOS & Ubuntu users, please use the links from the README to install the .NET 6 runtime. Windows users are not affected by this." Don't know if this is a factor? Sorry I can't help more.

                    • @generalpayne: just realized its actually not confirming set location (doesnt say successful just stays greyed out after click)

                    • +1

@generalpayne: thanks mate. it got bit hectic but finally chopper landed :)

FYI : Had to Install .net 5.0 to support my MAC OS

found out the issue by opening ifakelocation and running code cd ~/Desktop/iFakeLocation.app
./iFakeLocation on Terminal. this to be used when having the app on desktop.

Once it said need .net 5.0 also showed a link in terminal. downloaded that.

separately had to enable Developer Mode on iphone having ios 16 and above. Normally this option is no longer showing on iphone so had to go youtube to get it on.

Hope the above helps somebody too!

                      • @zhk89: Glad to hear you figured it all out! Sounds like a bit of a pain, but hopefully smooth sailing from here. Nice job!
Good to get some non-pc tips.

            • @generalpayne: Thanks for the step by step instructions. It helps having a backup solution when 3utools isn't playing ball

        • Hi atlas would love a copy of your guide too

        • @atlas85 Send me a copy too pls.

        • @atlas85 could you send me that tutorial as well? Thx

      • Can someone help me too please? I can dm login

    • +1

You take your helicopter and fly to the location of the cheapest fuel and lock it in using your phone.

  • Did anyone get an error in 3uTools? "modify virtual location failed to modify location (error code -16). Restart the device and try again."

    • Probably got something to do with the latest ios updates.

      • It used to work before the latest ios update.
        Does anyone know the fixes?

    • +2

You can solve that error by turning on developer mode. Go to settings>privacy and location>developer mode. Then try again. It might work.

      • it worked. Thanks mate..

    GET TO DA CHOPPAH!

  • +3

Can probably beat this price at Ampol with Toyota 8c off stacked with woollies 4c and Amex member offer. I did the 1st two together the day before Amex offer came up

    • WW 4c didn't stack for me yesterday in Canberra.

      • Scanned toyota qr code 1st then rewards card if that helps. Was at an Ampol station with metro woollies

        • Mine was reverse. Will give that a go, thanks.

Cashier had trouble with the Toyota code, had multiple goes before it was recognised. Maybe a servo specific problem?

  • +1

locked and loaded for Xmas trips… exxxcellent.

  • Thanks Op. Locked in a few to get me over Christmas and new years 😁

    • +2

No worries mate, hope there are even cheaper ones later in the month☺️

    • The locks are only valid for 7 days, they won't last that long.

  • +5

Just an FYI, 7/11 is cracking down big time with these fuel locks by canceling the accounts!

    • +2

Honestly I will be heading to the servo later today, after the Wantirna incident a few months back…

    • Your source?

    • +1

I had several of my own accounts for different fuel and I'd let family use them, and out of around 5 accounts I had, 3 got suspended, and I only have 2 left.

    • +2

be sure to create new accounts with disposable email addresses - they are just using this to farm email addresses they can sell to databrokers

      • which best disposables u recommend?

        • +1

          Byom.De works well

    • Yes, all mine got canned and I haven't been bothered to sort it out.

    • +3

I lost 8 accounts this week… flew too close to the sun.

      • Sorry for such a newbie q, how can they detect and ban you?

Also, I noticed you can lock it for others too? How? Happy to be pm'ed about this info

        Thanks

        • If you can login to someone's account, you can lock for them.

Not sure re: banning. Usually if lock history is too sporadic, or jumping interstate too quickly. E.g. locking in WA then using in NSW an hr later.

          • @nugstar: I just filled up one car using a disposable acc, I will let you know if the acc gets canned

  • +3

As someone in SA these thread comments make no sense. You guys can lock in fuel prices with an app?

    • +1

Yep, unfortunately because SA (and I guess NT and TAS plus most rural regions) do not have 7-11 it would not be surprising you haven't heard of it.

    • VIC flexes when it comes to Alcohol & Fuel options,

  • +1

    thanks. locked in.

    Lock it in Eddie!
