Avoid this keyboard like the plague. I've had two and both were defective and eventually developed the same fault - keys would randomly not register presses.

Agreed - bounce on one key and failing LED on another. Sigh.

Thanks, saved me from buying another problem.

    • thank you

Im happy with my cheapie keyboard and I dont really know if my gaming will improve with a pricey one
saved me from a lot of dissapointment

    • what other keyboard did you get or recommend?

      • Logitech eventually replaced it with a G613 which I have no complaints about. It's not RGB though.

        • I ended up with quite a bit of key chatter on my G613, super annoying. Switches don't feel very tactile either imo

        • I got a G910 Orion Spectrum from Logitech as a replacement instead (replaced under warranty). Seems like luck of the draw.

I did like my G512 carbon when it worked and I didn't have keycap issues, just the blue led on 3 keys stopped working and it annoyed me enough to make a claim.

    • +1

Same I have two failed leds with blue colour after a year and lost receipt so can't even get it fixed. I've had to set mine to certain colours like green and yellow so it works and doesn't look terrible.

I've had this keyboard for about 18 months now and have the opposite, keys sometimes double register :(

I am currently typing on this very keyboard and have to say that I vehemently disagree with you. I do not believe the keyboards are defective as I think this level of awfulness takes purpose, forethought and skill. I refuse to believe it's this bad on accident, these issues are very much intentional and the designers at logitech have an artistic vision that I am yet to fathom.

In addition to certain keys randomly not responding I also get a nice combo with letters randomly doubletyping. This can be temporarily fixed by slamming my fist on the keyboard, which the typing experience provokes me into doing anyway. Truly masterful ddesign

Surprised to see these arent logitechs proprietary switches, these were what really put me off with other logitech mech keyboards

    • +6

      GX Browns ARE logitechs own.

      Theyre junk.

      Build quality is trash.

      • oof okay thanks for the input, glad i never bought them haha

  • Do the keycaps rub off quite easily?
I have the G610 (with white LED light only) and a few of the keycaps have completely rubbed off after a few years use.
My other keyboard - Corsair Strafe RGB kaycaps however still have completely intact kepcaps in comparison.

    • +1

These do use ABS Keycaps which are known to shine pretty fast.

    • Yep. My letters started peeling off after 2 months

    • +1

Ive had mine about 2 years and apart from some shine on the spacebar where my thumb presses for 'jump', nothing else has faded or rubbed off.

  • +1

DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY ON LOGITECH JUNK PRODUCTS WHICH ARE DESIGNED TO BE BROKEN RIGHT AFTER THE WARRANTY!

  • Does the same issues apply to their G915 keyboards? Been considering picking one up.

For comparison my OG Corsair K70 RGB keyboard (their first RGB keyboard during that time when there was the uproar about them changing their logo) is still going strong after all these years.

  • Can anyone please recommend some budget wireless gaming keyboards and mice?

    • Just got a g305 from the other deal. Any keyboard suggestions?

      • +1

        Try an Akko

  • Had this keyboard for about 2 years, had no issues at all. Only had my right control keycap snap on where it connects to the switch, causing it to fall off. Still pretty good value for a name-brand board at this price.

    • It will develop double click/non-click after 2 years sooner or later

  • What’s a good quality keyboard, wired, mechanical switches, individual rgb backlighting, good for gaming, and has media keys?

    • Lots on Amazon, AliExpress, etc.

Keychron has really decent options too, but they're priced a bit higher generally

      • What puts me off about Keychron is their latency. 10ms wired and 50ms BT 2 years ago. I imagine they've improved their BT latency since cause that's unacceptable. I do remember some Ozbargainers talking about having BT issues a month or so ago though so it's not just latency that's an issue either.

  • Avoid this one.
Thought I'll upgrade from a g413. Have gone through two g512 that failed on me with double key register etc.
g413 to this day still works.

  • They won’t last long. I have a G412 I think broken after a year. Went back to good guys they give me a new one broken after 2 years

Most of these gaming branded keyboard are average or just trash. Better off looking into Akko, they are the budget friendly brand for quality keyboard. Using PBT key caps instead of crappy ABT, they have a ton of switches so there is definitely something you will like, and the option to get a hot swappable keyboard so you can easily swap switches with the same keyboard without need to solder them on yourself. Recently bought an Akko keyboard (Jelly Pink switches) when they were $85~ and they feel so much better.

      Pretty much this

Lots of people are gonna keep on buying these keyboards at this price so Logitech (or any of the other brand name 'gaming' companies) doesn't have much reason to really improve the quality of their keyboards

  • Wow, I'm sorry to hear you all had bad experiences with this one. I bought mine in June 2020, and it's going pretty strong.

Since then I bought a keychon k4 and it feels heaps better, but still got $99 it's done me pretty good service :)

Usage: was fulltime from June 2020, then June 2022 it's 2 days WFH and occasional light gaming

  • Spilt a full can of beer on mine, but I was glad to see it go. The metal body made it loud!

  • Not sure how to do an update. I bought this deal, but went to check something and noticed they are now $94. Also Red/Linear is available at the discounted price as well.

Typing this from my new Brown, it really needs a wrist rest as well.

I managed to get Amazon to give a voucher for the $5 dollars.
