  • Does the guest network allow devices to communicate with each other ?. I'm running an Asus Mesh but they changed the router software a while ago so that only the private network allows communication. The guest network devices are isolated. Infuriating

Isnt that the point of guest networks?

      • No - that's not what I meant. My guest network is isolated from the private network so that the guest network can't use resources on the private network.
What I mean is that now on an Asus guest network the devices can't talk to each other on the guest network ie wireless isolation between devices on the same guest network. Never used to be like that. Asus would allow you to set wireless isolation for both guest and private networks independently Unless the menu option has been moved elsewhere for the guest network.

    • A Guest network allows visitors in your home to use the internet without needing to connect to your private network. Wireless devices connected to a Guest network have no access to resources shared on the Main network so the security and privacy of the Main network are guaranteed.

When Deco works in the AP mode, there is an Allow Local Access switch on the Advanced page, and when it’s enabled, your guests will be authorized to access your local network resources.

Note: Some Deco models do not support this feature and will support it via firmware updates in the future.
