    • +1

      no

    • +1

I got some cooked lobsters previously and i freezed them and they still tasted good when i put them in the airfryer.

    • +1

Ask if they have frozen stock, due to the price being set there shouldn’t be a problem

Tried these small ones last year…

Didn't have much flavour. Waste of money.

Agreed was really disappointed. Better off sticking to giant prawns.

    • +1

maybe you just needed to add some salt

      • +2

        Don’t be the salty guy…

        • No jv, we call them salt bae

    • +2

Get a small bowl, add a cup of olive oil, squeeze some lemon, add some diced onion and diced parsley and a bit of salt. Use this to either dip lobster pieces into or break up the lobster meat into mouthful size pieces and mix it into the oil and enjoy :)

A friend bought one last year, we ate with soy sauce + chilli oil dip. IMO prawn is better.

Rock. Rock. Rock Lobster. Prices are down… Down.. Down…

Maybe they should feed those lobsters with coffee beans instead…

  • Was $12 at woolies the other day and i didn't get it as had no idea how pull it apart to eat it

    • Crack it open then use one of those fancy smol forks to scoop out the meat.

You can very quickly grill the tail in its shell on a bbq or hot pan flesh side down once split and serve with melted garlic butter. I do this with bugs which I prefer to lobster and it’s delicious.

    • Ask Wilson.

    • Wow i would have purchased heaps to make lobster mornay or slice them open to put lemon butter on them and whack them in the airfryer.

    If ya in wa
These are $20 a pop at your local farmer jacks

    • Females contain eggs and may contain traces of nuts

Just went into local coles and there was this large short guy shouting "Where's the lobsters….bring out the lobster"

  • Yeah nah - Don't waste ur $$'s, these are crap & tasteless..

    • +1

You can make them taste good by doing lobster mornay or lobster thermidor.
The simple dish would be simply lemon butter lobster.

      • +3

        What's the point in that?

it still wont taste like lobster!

I've eaten them fresh from the ocean, i may be a little biased but i got sucked in last year with these, they're woefully bad.

I prefer fresh cooked with a sprinkle of lemon & pepper, while still warm, or, refrigerated & eat the next morning/lunch.

There's really no substitute for fresh seafood.

        • +1

True it depends if you can embrace those crowds for the live seafood or the much fresher stuff coming into xmas.
I'm happy with the option of doing an online pick up for Christmas.

i think people also need to consider what is the cost per kg ….might be better off buying a bigger / fresher one or just a lobster tail which they also have at coles …. might find out this isn’t the best way to get max lobster meat per kg …..

    • i thought these were 40 bux each … then firesale to $20ea in 2020 as china ban .. and media went all huh hah with 20 bux Christmas lobster

now seems like $24ea is the normal price ?

      • The normal price on these is now $27.
Yeh, coles and woolies usually put them at $24;when on special.

    • I think these ones are generally 300-350 grams at coles and woolies.
Even the cooked lobster equivalent at seafood shops is around $35ish-$40ish dollars of the same size.

  • If you're getting this, might as well get this instead - https://shop.coles.com.au/a/meadow-mews/product/coles-thawed…

    • Depends if you would like to support overseas lobsters lol. Personally, i like the chance to slice the lobster open and getting rid of the yellow part then getting into the nitty gitty.

  • We were at a party
His earlobe fell in the deep
Someone reached in and grabbed it
    It was a rock lobster
    Rock lobster
    Rock lobster
