        It’s actually in the law that the ATO has to be platform-agnostic. Source: paid my taxes with a custom mix of discounted Apple and Google gift cards as approved by my personal ATO payment agent. Sure beats being arrested when they call you on the way over to your house (cue sirens in background)…

          Isn't Google play different to google pay?

          I have google play gift card but can't see that balance on my Google pay :(

        you can use it to pay for Play Store purchases, like books music, movies, in app purchases and apps.

        NOT for things like Google Pay, YouTube premium subscription. This last one was what caught me out.

          Oh, that sucks that it doesn't work for YouTube premium. What about subscriptions managed via Google pay e.g. Disney plus purchased via Android app?

          Edit/ bit of research suggests you can use it for subscriptions including YouTube premium. You might have to set it up in the app, it's not clear.

              @cook99: thanks for the correct information. I have the cheap YT Premium 'in India' subscription. I have not tried to switch it out in fear I will have to pay the Aussie edition tax.

                @hippo2s: No worries, I've often considered to the India option but haven't been bothered when everything just works with the Aussie tax version, all my TVs, nest hubs, nest speakers etc all setup and the idea of opening that can of worms gives me the chills… But I'll hand in my OzB license in the meantime

    Can anyone confirm if Woolworths Wish gift cards can be used to purchase these Google Play cards? I think the answer is NO, but just seeking confirmation.

      No, you can't purchase a gift card with another one. It'll reject the transaction if a gift card is scanned for purchase and then also used a payment method.

      Also, can't use a monthly extra 10% off to reduce the price of gift cards, if you have access to that through Woolworths Insurance or Mobile.

      Don’t expect it to work.

      I mean, you can give it a go, but you’ll most likely redeem your discount for the month and have no discount provided to you at all.
