It's a pretty short and boring story but I feel like you all would appreciate it more than anyone else I could tell the story to.
Since October, before my dad's birthday in November, I've been waiting for the best C2 OLED 65" deal, and the timing just so happened that I missed a few alright ones - like this https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/727177. Then, in late November he let me know that he changed his mind and wanted a 55" C2 instead, right after a few deals had expired for the 55". Black Friday was a bit disappointing too, and I didn't want to get on any of the BNPL platforms for a discount. So I thought he might have to wait for Boxing Day instead.
Then a couple weeks ago, I saw an email about LG Spin & Win, where they give out discount coupons up to 50%. Figured it couldn't hurt, and first spin got a 50% coupon - couldn't believe it! Read the fine print, not usable until 20 December.
Days tick by, then I checked today and it's in my LG account. So I add the C2 55" to the cart - <$1200 total. Crazy price. Since he wanted a soundbar too, I checked the LG site and grabbed the S90QY as well, since it has the better features like Atmos and 5.1 and was listed at the same price as the S80QY (~$1200), and I figured that with 50% off it's worth splurging on a better quality soundbar.
Total ended up at around $1750, which is a great price for the C2 alone. Though I couldn't get a free Wowcast (wireless HDMI audio solution) with the soundbar since they won't allow you to stack multiple promotions, I'm still super satisfied.
Anyone else have similar stories of luck leading to amazing prices like that?
TLDR: looking for C2 55" deal since November after father changed mind from wanting 65" C2 since October. Got lucky with a 50% discount code from LG. Bought him C2 55" TV and S90QY soundbar for ~$1750 total today. Very happy
