  • Does it work if I buy coles myer gift card in store at myer?
Only tried that when using commbank cashback offer, not westpac.

      Yes.

      • It says excluding gift cards..

        • +3

That’s true, but there is nuance to that.

If you purchase a Coles Group & Myer gift card (or Myer gift card) instore at Myer, you should be fine, because Myer will not tell Westpac what you purchased in that transaction; Myer will only tell Westpac that you went to a Myer location and spent $xxx. Of course, if cashback tracking does not happen automatically for whatever reason and you need to follow up with Westpac, Westpac customer service staff will most likely need to see the purchase receipt. As soon as they see you purchased a gift card and they double-check the list of exclusions, they’ll probably tell you “sorry, no cashback for you”.

If you purchase a Myer gift card online through Myer’s online portal, that will not trigger any cashback. Myer sells Myer gift cards at https://retail.myergiftcards.com.au/, which is a separate website to where Myer sells goods (https://www.myer.com.au/). The two websites have two different payment processes, so Westpac would have an easy time distinguishing between a purchase on the Myer gift card website and the regular Myer website. There have been cases in the past (primarily from AMEX cardholders) where someone purchased a gift card from the Myer website and then wondered why they received no cashback from their card provider…

  • When does it expire?

Might be useful for boxing day sales.

The deal post says 15 January 2023.

The Westpac app also says 15 January 2023.

    • I saw it as well, made my purchase & now its not there…

For the last Myer / Westpac cashback deal I was targeted (which was almost a year ago), cashback took 7 business days to be credited to my account.

  • Don't see this on my wbc credit card… maybe targeted?

I wonder why my deal didn't get as much traction when it's 10% off a massive variety of stores through Westpac Extras? Not that I'm worried, I got $20 off $200 GC at Bunnings, just curious. Maybe I need to word it better? :)

More trusted brand, not through a third party, don't have to download an app to use, can get MyerOne points …

I suppose, however I've seen members do more for less 😂

  • It’s been 7 days and still no cashback. Hmmm…

    • Two of those days were public holidays …

    • +1

      I wouldn’t be too worried.

      • It says approximately 7 days in the offer itself, which hints at there being some sort of leeway.

      • Under Things you should know on the Westpac app, it says:

This statement credit will normally be paid into your account within 7 business days after the date of which the eligible purchase is processed, but please allow additional days during public holidays or if your card is being replaced.

Has it been 7 business days from the date the transaction was processed?

      • During the last Westpac / Myer cashback deal I participated in (earlier this year), it actually took 7 business days from the processed date for the cashback to be credited to my account.
      • I didn’t check “things you should know” so thought it’s just 7 calendar days. Thanks!

        • I had my cashback paid out to me three business days after the transaction was processed, so hopefully you received your cashback as well!
