    These are great because they charge from the points on the bottom of the controller so they just sit there and charge.

    Constantly pulling the USB cable out of the top can make the connector loose and possibly lose charge as one of my controllers did.

        Dont think its good for long term as this will make the battery degrades faster. Once the controller is fully charged I just change its position a bit so that its out of the charger contact point. This way it stops charging but still stays in the dock

          All electronics nowadays have capacitors designed to stop charging once full. There is no overcharging. Similiar myth to phones being left on charge overnight, the same concept may apply here.

          When the controller is fully charged, the orange light turns off, indicating that it has also turned off the charging circuitry. So it is fine to leave the controller docked in the charger long term.
