So glad I can finally eat pizza again

Thanks arse, not so tight after all.

Thanks for saving the day TA after a disaster Prezzee morning!

    Overweight Santa's dinner sorted 😂

    • +38

Well if you purchase anything up to $10, it's basically free. So in my books at least, that equates to 100%. Merry Christmas :)

        • +18

          Entitled much?

          • -1

@foxes28: How does pointing out misleading advertising make me entitled?

            • +19

@[Deactivated]: You are the reason they need to put Allergy advice: milk on milk bottles. Find a way to complain about everything even when the cap is advertised right there in the title.

            • -2

              @[Deactivated]: It doesn’t.
It’s just hate from those who don’t realise that they are being misled.

        • +7

I don't see how it's misleading, all I see is you being delusional, expecting the full menu to be free? Lol

          • -3

@TinyTimmy: No it should say up to $10 cashback. Not 100% cashback. Because it's not true for most purchases. Up to $10 is true for everything.

            • +20

@[Deactivated]: 100% cashback up to $10. You literally cannot get clearer than that.
You can get a free pizza (or 2 medium unreal pizzas), if that's not enough for you, start up your own cashback company and offer everyone free unlimited pizzas.

              • @pennypincher98: I literally made it clearer by simply saying "up to $10 cashback".

                • +6

@[Deactivated]: It says up to $10 in the title. It's not misleading. You're honestly harder to talk to than Uber Eats customer service lol.

                  • -6

                    @pennypincher98: C'mon mate. What's easier to understand:

                    1. 100% cashback capped at $10 or
                    2. Up to $10 cashback?

Then tell me who is being unreasonable. The first is worded like that to make it sound more attractive which has obviously been very successful with all of you.

                    • +5

@[Deactivated]: Hell yeah it's been successful with me, I can get a free pizza or two. Please don't participate if it's unreasonable :)

                    • +9

@[Deactivated]: You are the one being unreasonable. If they use "up to $10 cashback", one would ask at what cashback rate? You can't always assume it's at 100% rate because in the past we have had 25%, 50% etc.

                      • -2

@foxes28: He is being unreasonable by mocking me. I have a point and it's okay to agree or disagree but not okay put someone down to make a point.

                    • @[Deactivated]: For number 2, it doesn't necessarily need to be 100% of the purchase cash back

Up to $10 cashback means that it will return 10 bucks for any percentage. It could be 10% of the purchase for example https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/740336

In the past, we've had cash back with less than 100% cashback

                    • +6

                      @[Deactivated]:

C'mon mate. What's easier to understand:
                      1. 100% cashback capped at $10 or
                      2. Up to $10 cashback?

How else would I know what percentage of my spend would count as cashback? Would I have to spend $500 to get 2% of my money back? How would people know if it's a good deal or not?

                • @[Deactivated]:

                  Up to $10 cashback

So it’s a $10 cap, but what percentage is the cashback? 10%, so I order $100 and get $10 cashback? 50%? It’s completely ambiguous.

          TA should block you

          • -5

@Jessie Ryder: It's okay I'll see myself out. It seems having an opinion and a different point of view in this age is cause for banishment, mockery and personal attacks. And we think humanity has progressed. Technically sure but not so much in every other way. I'll delete my account to save TA the trouble.

            • +5

@[Deactivated]: I've never seen someone get this pressed over free pizza. If complaining about insignificant things and throwing temper tantrums is your idea of humanity 'progressing' then perhaps you'd have a better time on Twitter.

            • +6

@[Deactivated]: It seems you have left already so maybe this is already in vain. Ozb has a lot of pricks but they were't being pricks to you in this scenario. Any logical person would have understood the post perfectly fine - I don't think anybody else found it confusing. As pointed out, cashback can be different percentages so both percentage and cap needed to be in the title. You sounded like an entitled person by complaining about a free $10 which is why you got those responses

              • @sigplay: Can participating in this discussion be considered as using energy (cuff doing workout) after a eating a pizza to burn the calories?

Tightarse just keeps delivering the goods. From discounted GCs to prepaid SIMs to pizzas and almost everything in between.

    Domino's Pizza Vs Pizza Hut.
    Size: Domino's Pizza
    Price: Domino's Pizza
Location: Domino's Pizza has more shops
Taste: Domino's Pizza (it's subjective but I still think Domino's Pizza is better)
Have tried the last promotion for a free Pizza Hut, it was terrible,so disappointed! It could be the worse Pizza ever! Sorry 😞

    • +3

We make some changes to the pizzas (add and remove toppings) and it makes it better. But I do agree that dominos is better. That being said, free is also better than 50% discount

    • Same thing with my local pizza hut, literally only had topping on the centre half of the pizza. Also minimal toppings on that half. But I would recommend trying a different store as I travelled a bit further to a different store and it was better. Not as good as Domino's but still better.

    • +2

Have you had a "large" pizza at Dominos lately? It's for one person, and I'm slim to average in size and can easily eat one.
My local independent, Italian owned pizza store calls that a small.
As far as quality, if you want a quality pizza, neither Dominos or Pizzahut even qualify for that category. That's like saying Maccas has the best burgers; perhaps when we are drunk at 3am we could justify this thought :)
My point is, I don't think any pizza lover is buying PH or Dom's for any element of quality.
Merry Christmas to all Oz Bargainers!

    • +1

Used to be a Domino’s pizza fan. I tried Domino’s recently due to the commbank rewards deal - surely the size shrunk way too much since the last time I had Domino’s pizza. Also the tracker stopped working once it’s “with a driver for delivery”. The pizza I had had tiny toppings… quite disappointed.
Might try Pizza Hut this time and see whether it’s good.

  • Nice, anyone got codes ?

  • +1

Did dealbot get his wires crossed? Instead of Prezzee $10 GC was meant to be $10 free Pizza?

  • +1

    nice

  • Thanks TA your amazing! We all thought the days of 100% pizza hut were over! Next they're team up with Boost and offer us 105% pizza!

They recently launched a new "garlic bread sticks" and they taste AMAZING (the picture looks like dried bread but mine were nothing like the picture and tasted so good!)

  • +3

I got this deal last time it was on, as I have done on previous occasions. I got charged by pizza hut, no order confirmation was sent and when I went to store to pick up there was no record of the order. The store made up the order for me however no cashback. Strangely I got an email asking how my order was with a free garlic bread for next time. How can I sort this @tightarse?

    • -1

Next time take a screenshot/pic of the order confirmation screen which ALWAYS appears after you order something online?

      • This happened once to me as well, and no the confirmation screen did not appear!

    • +1

Contact Pizza Hut? Your order was with them and not CR.

    HUT4912 : 1 Large Pizza + 2 Sides $14 (Pick up)
    Code is not working now…

    HUT5130 : 30% off 1 Pizza
    Code is the best

I hope to HUT4912 code is working tmr.

    Thanks!

    • Know of any other codes?

      • +1

Yep - ozbargain is amazing - scroll to the top of the page and click the red banner "CHECKOUT ALL THE PIZZA COUPONS AND DISCOUNTS" below the post that takes you directly to the pizza page that lists all the voucher codes! (You can also get there via the main menu but they helpfully put a direct link on relevant pages like this one too!)

    • The T&Cs for this deal say "Cashback is eligible on use of all Pizza Hut promo codes", so I hope they really mean it, because the CashRewards page (for Pizza Hut) itself does NOT include these codes…. Strange that the CashRewards page doesn't list any promo codes, in fact…

      • Maybe they updated it when the offer started at 4pm - because it does now!
The very first line on the cashrewards page for pizza hut states "Cashback is eligible on use of all Pizza Hut promo codes."

      • Hi @dlee

There's no need to list any codes on the Cashrewards merchant page due to this (which has been there as long as I care to remember):

        https://files.ozbargain.com.au/upload/27551/100570/ph.jpg

        Have a Merry Christmas :)

        • OK. I see. One thing, though: the "Unreal!" range of really cheap items has disappeared (it was there BEFORE 4pm, though… hah!). Looks like they don't want people ordering from the "Unreal!" menu for this promotion. Why is Pizza Hut allowed to get away with this? A CashRewards cashback should NOT affect what items are available to customers, right? There is already a cap of $10 cashback, so why restrict the menu?

          • +1

@dlee: Hi again. I honestly have NO idea if/when/why they changed anything. But surely they wouldn't make any menu changes based off this deal? After all there's a heap of people out there that order from PH without even knowing about OzB or CR. Anyway, I'm out of here. Talk soon :)

            • @tightarse: Yeah, I agree that they shouldn't remove products just like that.

Can anyone else confirm that the "Unreal!" range no longer appears on the Pizza Hut web site? I browsed the Unreal range this morning, thinking of ordering from it during this promo, but the menu item has now disappeared!

          • @dlee: change the order day instead of today? i pre-ordered for Wednesday the Unreal! menu is available.

            • @wekimekigugudan: Ah! I understand now! Pizza Hut seems to "disappear" the Unreal! menu for any pickups/deliveries from 4pm onwards! (I think it has nothing to do with the day, but only the time. If I change the time of pickup to 3.45pm, the Unreal! menu magically appears, and disappears again for 4pm onwards.

That's what I call "unreal!". Why restrict it to "before 4pm"? I guess they want people to pay more for dinner!

          • @dlee: The Unreal prices are only ever available until 4pm. You are able to place your order in advance and set the pickup time before 4pm to be able to get this offer to stack with the 100% cash back. This has nothing to do with Pizza Hut hiding it for the CR promotion. Hope that helps :)

            • @OutOfTime: I see. I eventually worked it out myself (as in my comment above), but thanks for confirming it! This is UNREAL indeed. Not good that they want to charge more for evening orders, but I guess they're trying to make money…

            • +1

@OutOfTime: Well that's one less thing to worry about. Thanks, and have a lovely Christmas :)

              • @tightarse: Thanks for all your help this year! Hope you have a great Christmas as well :)

The only reason I knew that is because of all the Pizza Hut orders I've made this year because of your 100% cashback deals lol.

        • -1

after they announced their 'misinformation policy'
In short, they can hold up to 2500 AUD if they believe you spread wrong information

          • @freedomofspeech: They’ve done a complete 180 on this. Claimed it was an error in the first place.

            • +1

@MisterTee: And then it snuck back in a week or so later.

              It’s an insane story.

              • @ajr5k: Really? Got a link to a good article explaining the mess?

                • @Grazz989: The "fine" is there today. Search this document for the first occurrence of "$2,500":
                  https://www.paypalobjects.com/marketing/ua/pdf/US/en/ua-0919…

Then under this article, search for "misleading information":
                  https://www.paypal.com/us/webapps/mpp/ua/useragreement-full?…

These two terms together basically say you agree to Paypal deducting $2,500 USD from your bank account for "providing misleading information" - Remembering that last year, "misleading information" (misinformation) included COVID-19 seems to have come from a lab in Wuhan, or that vaccines are not completely safe and effective and definitely do not cause myocarditis in young people, or that vaccines definitely stop transmission… But what is considered misleading is at Paypal's sole mercy by these terms.

Not a lawyer and I am not convinced this term is enforceable in Australia - But I also wouldn't want to be the one to have to find out either. I don't think Paypal offer enough value to my life to justify the risk of them jacking $2,500 USD from me.

                  • @ajr5k: I'm not sure the two documents are linked in the way you're implying. The misleading information bit talks about that fine for breaching the acceptable use policy. However the other document is the User Agreement, not the acceptable use policy. Not saying you're wrong, but I don't see how just those two together show that misinfo can be punished with a $2,500 fine.

                    • -1

@Grazz989: It has been watered down in language as there was an uproar about it. But if there was no intention to issue fines, Paypal wouldn't have initially backtracked and apologised, blaming an "error", if there was nothing to it.

I don't know. Like I said, feel free to use Paypal. I don't think it offers any value but if you feel differently, go for it. I have no interest in working with a company that thinks it has the right to fine me $2,500 USD for their "internal costs" associated with an investigation.

            • @MisterTee: as of today that's still the situation.. don't want to deal with frozen funds

  • +2

Does anyone reckon when there are deals going on like 2 for Tuesday or some promos that pizza places deliberately put less toppings or they are the same regardless when you order?

I seem to see some shops have more toppings and some are really stingy

    • +3

For deals like this I don't think the store is even aware your order is via Cashrewards.

    • Store by store.
There is no difference near me PizzaHut, even last Hawaiian promo free pizza was good, too.
      So I always go there.
