    • Is that good for charging multiple things or are there alternatives. Want to charge all my tech including my MacBook pro

      • Last time this was posted in OZB, there was a comment on that.

        "Up to 30w via the USB-C, 30w shared across the other 4 USB-A ports"

        I'm not sure how much power your Macbook pro will draw but hopefully this gives you some info.

      • It really depends on your gadgets. I have a 165W Satechi with 4 USB-C ports. There are also devices such as Belkin 108w (2c/2a), though there are a few complaints of coil whine from Ozbargainers. There’s also a Anker model but I don’t believe it is available within Australia.

        Be mindful of how power is split when multiple devices are charging. It would also be advisable to stick to reputable brands.

      • Nope, MBP charging will be super slow. Forget about it.

      • this only does 45w maximum for single device. I would look at satechi 100w or higher. JB had that for $99. I was going to get it, but it was just a bit heavy for travel.

  • +1

    Any that are usb c only?

  • Spec says two USBC ports 45w max. Does that mean two USBC devices could only draw max 22w each if they are 5v 3.5 amp spec each?

      to answer your question, it would be 20w(usb-c)+ 30w (usb-c) + 15w(the rest of usb-a combined)
      seems like

      One USB-C will always cap at 45w even if the other USB-C port isn't in use
      Two USB-C == 20w for one and 30w for another (50w shared USB-C max)

      USB-A cap at 15w

  • Which of these would be more suitable as a bedside charger? Just for a iPhone, Apple Watch and Air Pods.
