There is definitely no dumber way to give a watch a name than L3.777.4.58.6

    • -3

yeah, when competing with names like samurai, turtle etc ….the least they could have done with this dive watch give it name …
downside is i’ve gone off automatics due to cost to regular service, am loving WR200 solar dive watches , even good quartz get 4years unless you have used dollar shop batteries.

Those are nicknames by fans. Seiko watches have boring letter-digit names too.

    • +4

The watch's name is Conquest. L3.777.4.58.6 is the reference number.

      • rolex seem good on dive watch names …..sea dweller , submariner ,etc.

        • +2

All those Rolex models have their own reference numbers as well

      • Thing is, these are all "Conquest".

You need the model number for the exact specs.

Same thing with many other products. You'd ask for size, colour, strap material.

The model number is much more likely to be used online when researching a specific variant.

      Brand : Longines
      Model : Conquest
      Model No. : L3.777.4.58.6

    • Welcome. That’s the ref.

  • Damn it, if I hadn't bought a Carrera this week. This would have been an enticing offer.

    • yeah sweet price for brand name automatic with 300M water resistance ….

  • Still no movement on ULTRA‑CHRON pricing. Thats the one I'm waiting for a sale on

  • The huge 12 and 6 ruin it, personally.

Good review here. I just got myself a Seiko SPB143 for B'day few months back, trying to hold off this one, looks good to me (wish the 12 / 6 was bit smaller though).

    • Nice bday present. If you don't mind me asking, how much was it, and have you ever seen it listed on starbuy?

I'm considering either an Oris aquis or the SPB143

      • +1

I got it down to $1.5kfrom an authorised dealer in Westfields Parramatta (Nader Jewellers). I also have skinny wrists and it fits and wears well tbh.

Never seen it on star buy (did look for a while).

  • +2

A classic design from a respected maker at a good price…what's not to like?

    • +1

I'm not liking my skinny wrists. Not sure if it's correct but 50mm lug to lug is a no go.
