Silicon Power XPOWER Zenith RGB 32GB (2x16GB) DDR4 3600MHz CL18 Memory $129.95 + Delivery @ Mwave

160

Looks okay for a 2x16gb kit of 3600 CL18. Slightly more expensive than the non-RGB variant that was on sale before, but you know. RGB. (The RGB looks so-so because of the gaps)

Some sort of 8gbit dual rank Hynix. Except Silicon Power have replaced the markings so you can't identify the exact bin.

Don't go pushing 1.55V down the throat of this like the overclockers.com review.

Obligatory link to the rest of the catalogue because giant spinning cat I guess: https://www.mwave.com.au/catalog/boxing-day (I went meh at the majority of the catalogue pricing however. Although I suspect the monitors section may have something decent. That may be projection on my part though. Pun intended.)

Edit:

Appears to have been price-matched by Umart/MSY now.

The right deal on the wrong day. My wallet is sobbing in the corner.

    Nice!

What's the current consensus on best timings+clock rate for Pinnacle Ridge/Zen2?
I grabbed 16GB of Corsair 3200MHz on some special for my 2600x back when prices were damn near tear-inducing, now looking for something better suited… as the DDR4 seems to be getting cleared out in line for next gen stuff.
I remember hearing that the faster the clock-rate, the better - is that still the go

    • This will be fine for Zen 2, for gaming it will be about the same as a 3200C16 kit, if this is dual rank then even better.

3600C16 should work on any zen2 CPU without issues.

    • The timings make it just okay despite the frequency being close to the sweet spot.

Don't expect to be able to tighten them too much, Hynix tends to push frequency easier. I also would be cautious as to the voltage pushed unless you can figure out what precise die it is, as I believe Hynix C will degrade at 1.45 for some people.

Or maybe just yolo and grab another set as backup. I dunno.

  • Would this work for my pc i bought from https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/584484
im happy to take off the existing 16gb of ram to replace with this if its not compatible with the current ram.

    • you would need to remove the 16 gb of the ram since it is (2x8)

  • Is this stuff confirmed dual rank ?
