Or consider the newer model Gen5 Detect for $1279 with eBay code.

    • What listing is that? I can see on binglee for $1299 with code plus $20 postage. I am tempted to get one, although wish it wasn't as heavy.

Yes Bing lee is the only listing I can see on eBay, best price I have seen for the newer model since it came out.
Yes the only complaint I see with the newer gen5 is it's heavier, and it's still a lot of $ to pay - consider carefully if you are on a budget.

Can I ask what the main difference is?

      • Apart from sucking a few more invisible particles, there is no such difference in using this or older models. It is just a marketing gimmick that newer models suck more than the previous ones. Simply buy a V7 or a V8 and live life. I am very happy with a v8 that I bought recently, have a 4 bedroom house with tiles, flooring and carpet and it works superbly.

Save some money and invest it somewhere. These items depreciate drastically, so buy the one which depreciates slowly (v7 or v8), finance literacy 101!

Gen5 has a better laser to see more dust particles, although it's more beneficial when you are using the vacuum in a darker environment.

Also gen5 has an integrated dust brush and crevice tool as well as an on/off button instead of a trigger.

        • Sure, same or more will be on the walls, ceiling, utensils, cars, upholstery, windows etc etc.
