  • Would this be good as pc monitor or too much risk of burn in?

    • +2

I use the C1 as a monitor. Quite large but you get used to it. Hide your menu bars / docks, use a black wallpaper, use a screensaver etc.. You’ll be right :D

    • +1

People are using them for monitors, for a long time already.

That said, 42" seems to be the preferred size (only the C2 comes that small)

    • 55 would be absurd under most conditions. I went from a 48 to a 42 and it's ALMOST OK. Have a large deep corner desk too.

Damn! $1500 for a 55 OLED is the best deal for console gamers, no questions asked!

    65" @ $2265 with $120 ebay code

    • What is the ebay code??

      • +1

PLUSDEC1 takes off 5%, which makes the price only $0.75 more than using the $120 code.

      • Check you my ebay page if you have the code, it's account specific mine looks like SNSMD**********

Seems too good to be true? I'm thinking the CS is probably made to a poorer standard to justify the price or something. Been burned by this before with "mid range" LED's which promise to have "most of the features of the higher end models" but in actuality the picture was substantially worse. Hoping I'm wrong

    • +1

Someone posted some details here - https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/747227

I think it’s going cheap now cos OLED is old tech and there’s Quantum Dot OLED now. Much like plasma and LCD when they first came out prices will just get cheaper and cheaper.

      You're overthinking it. It's a C1 panel with C2 internals.
      It's an LG OLED.

Nothing like a LCDs which vary greatly between low end and high end.

      • Well it doesn't have the heatsink so it probably dims lower to stay cool and/or has a shorter lifespan if the heat dissipation isn't great

Sometimes they have "grades" of panels like A+, B-, C etc. so maybe they picked the B-grade panels for this production run

Possibly had a bunch of other surplus parts they want to get rid of so maybe a "lottery" with respect to some of the other internals (probably not the panel tho)

        I'm just speculating here

  • This would be delectable and an easy decision if only it was guaranteed to have the evo panel.

    • +1

The CS series uses the C1 panels, so none of them are evo as far as I can tell, unless you have some other information about this?

  • $1435.50 with todays eBay plus discount through the good guys

    • Yep, you should post it up 👍

    • Gosh, so close to pulling the trigger on this. eBay have 1 year of plus for $4.99 so it's basically $1440.49 for anyone. Trying desperately to avoid buyer's remorse though… had a Panasonic OLED a couple of years ago and hated it, sold it on gumtree

  • Bought from JB for $1595 55" yesterday

Can I still price beat and get credit from JB?
