Careful with tours to Asia, esp China. Most of the time when it's cheap they take you to crappy tourist places or markets or shops and tell u to stay there for 2hrs and you buy stuff. This is how they get the money.

  G Adventures is the new name for GAP, one of the more respected adventure travel companies. From memory they have a specific policy against kick-backs for their leaders, and definitely don't do the "2 hours in the gift shop" type of thing.

    I believe you are correct froberts2. From what I understand G Adventures are a sustainable travel company who use local guides and venture off the beaten "tourist" track.
