Hisense 58" Ultra HD A6 4K Smart TV 58A6HAU $595 (RRP $895) + Delivery ($0 C&C/ in-Store) @ The Good Guys

190

My old TV died & I've been on the lookout for a new one & found a really great deal on the Hisense 58" A6 Series (58A6HAU) today & thought I might share.

Breakdown of the tv specs which made me choose it:
  • 4K
  • 58"
  • Vesa Mountable
  • Isn't Android but can be Chromecast to
  • AI upscales lower resolution footage to 4k
  • The reviews are pretty good all around
  • 3-year warranty (most others in this price range e.g Aldi, Kogan etc have only 12 months..I always find that super telling of quality you'll get)

and of course, that leads me into the price…

Price-matching breakdown

RRP is $895 but it's on sale for $595 pretty much everywhere (I'm unsure when that sale will finish but I suspect they're trying to get rid of the tv's as they have 2022 World Cup promo all over the boxes).

I got the Good Guys to price-match Appliance Central at $580 which they were able to do & actually beat at $565.

The Good Guys also has an Earn Store Cash program which gives back $50 of in-store credit in this case ($50 after spending $400-$849) after purchasing which can be used on future items at the store (needs to be setup prior to purchasing).

Pretty much after all that the tv was technically $515 which I'm pretty happy with.

I hope this helps

EDIT:

The Good Guys seem to have removed the product from their website (possibly discontinuing?) howeverJB Hi-Fi still has it for $595 and Harvey Norman also has it for $595

This is part of Boxing Day Sales for 2022

58” is a strange size. Didn’t even know TV’s came in this size

why is she putting TV's up there?

  • Hisense is alright, just don't use the 'smart tv' functions, eg YouTube, they don't work most of the time.

    • Do you mean the apps? I have no issue with mine. Not as snappy as the Google tv on my old Samsung, but good enough.

      • This seems to be a common comment on reviews. I’m looking at the 75” but haven’t pulled the trigger due to fear of the os being no good…

        • Fair enough. I have the 50” A6G and exclusively use the built in apps, no dongle or anything. Must be lucky.

    • I'm in the market for a new TV
Are Chinese TVs getting anywhere near the quality of LG/Samsung/Sony as yet or should I stick to a LG/Samsung/Sony?

      • Your problem is… as soon as they do get to the same quality, you won't be able to buy them for this kind of price.

I think it's much more feasible to aim for it being better than the crappy brands like EKO, FFalcon, JVC etc etc that all the stores sell in their budget range.

From what Im reading, it seems this is very good value for the price and its better than a budget brand - which is great for a 4K 58inch @ $595…
