Crucial 16GB 3200MHz CL22 DDR4 Laptop RAM (Single DIMM) $59.95 + Shipping + Surcharge @ Shopping Express

Looks like a pretty good deal, unfortunately it looks like the iMacs only take up to 2400mhz for ram, would be interested to know if anyone has tried upgrading with these and if it has worked.

Similar for $41.95, no idea about compatibility

    • 42 bux for 16gb stick !

      all time low !

should post as a deal !

AND WHY SO MANY LAPTOPS STILL 8GB !

    • Is silicon power a good brand? Cause god dame that price is good!

      • According to the silicon power website only the CL19 is compatible with the iMac, this one is CL22 :(

        https://www.silicon-power.com/web/us/compatibility

        • the 3200 is cl22, so compatible. tempting to bump my laptop to 32 from 16.

      • Never heard of this brand tbh. Anyone has any experiences on this please?

    • Will this work with QNAP TS-464?

  • Yes, faster DDR4 SODIMM RAM can slow itself down to slower speeds that PC laptop supports, from 2133Mhz. However I cannot confirm this RAM is compatible with Macs.

  • Good for synology nas

    • Hey there, I saw you bought a Mechpro water hose reel way back in this post https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/675006 … just wondering how it is still holding up? (sorry I couldn't PM you).

      • Yep it still works good and strong on the wall. I have installed the bolts between the bricks so the pressure also could help to hold it.
How about yours? Bit loose now?

        • Nah, just looking to buy one. Good to hear it is still going strong. Thanks.

Budget but does the job. This site claims its the faster x8 variant.

    • I thought only some 4 and 8 GB modules are the slow x16.
16GB and 32GB modules should all be x8.
      I could be wrong.

      • I thought so as well until I saw claims of people on Reddit and other places saying that they got 16gb rams that were x16 and did not offer a performance boost compared to their stock 8gb sticks.

I can not verify their claim but I’ve seen enough so that I stopped claiming all 16gb sticks are dual ranked. Maybe Im mistaken but Im not knowledgeable enough on this subject to say that these claims made by others are wrong. Better safe than sorry hence my comment.

        • There are 16GB single ranked.
I've never seen 32GB single ranked

          • @Phoebus: Well theres the answer regarding 16gb sticks no? These particular ones here should dual ranked as per the website claims and @Doge had the same thing.

    • The ones I received a few weeks ago were 2Rx8 but I don't think there is anyway to guarantee.

      • Gotcha gotcha, this collaborates with that the website claims, strange no other site even on crucial seem to indicated if they are dual or singled ranked ones.

  • Looking for 32gb (16x2) dual ranked but finding most places no longer report what they are.
Will it make much difference and just settle for single rank?

  • will this work in synology ds920+?

Should work yes but 16gb is enough
