God dam that is a nice price, maybe it's worth my dumping the 130 dollar acer liquid metal :(

    Very Good Price

Be aware, the support by LG has been appalling. In common with most Tegra 2 phones, we are still awaiting the delivery of ICS, which has been put back more than once.

Non-HW accelerated ROMs do exist, but for a properly working ICS or JB Nvidia need to provide binaries/code that they seem loath to do.

      Very good advice.
Just starting to look around for an upgrade to my SGS.
I'd seen someone previously whine about Tegra support (or lack thereof), but didn't know the background.

    • CM7 is quite good though

but i still wouldn't recommend this phone even at this price.. i've owned it for almost a year and the battery life is just APPALLING.. and you get a lot of signal loss on CM7 too.

  • But what is shipping cost? I have seen these guys charge $75 in shipping fees which makes it the same as ebay?

    Is this phone any good?

    • good specs for the price, but as pointed out above, third party ROM support is poor due to NVidia not opening up code.

  • I have this Phone, and strongly recommend not getting one! you will regret it, I do. I all other issues aside (just Google the phone model to find them) when it does work it is super slow. The phone looks good on paper but one of the slowest smartphones I have had. Every third party rom I tried had its own issues so I went back to stock.

Also LG repaired my first phone to try fix its issues but returned it with a broken digitizer so they replaced the phone(six weeks later). So I guess I have had two! the second one has been better but only because the GPS works Bluetooth still doesn't.

  • i too have this phone and is pure crap…

On paper and specs its looks fantastic, but in your hand it's just a pig of a phone to use.

Save your money and get something else.

    • Could you give some examples as to why it is not great? Also, are you running the latest software?

      • it's bad on the stock firmware.. but if you put CM7 on it.. it is very smooth and fast.. the real drawback is it's pathetic battery life (you will struggle to even get half a day with 3G enabled).. and there is a lot of signal loss on CM7 (I cannot remember if signal loss occured on stock firmware, but stock firmware is really bogged)

i do not recommend this phone even at this price.

        • Ouch. Even on Gingerbread 2.3? I would have thought some of the kinks would have been ironed out. Also, the DHD had average battery life - would you know if the 2X is better or worse?

        • yeah the GB update didn't really improve anything on stock.. but honestly CM7 is very good. if you can live with the signal resetting a lot. there is a lot of support for this phone on XDA. ICS will probably be skipped for JB.

i don't know the battery life of the DHD.. but i would say most likely worse

mate, I use my P990 quite a lot on 3G so i struggle to make it to 8 hours… this is just FB, Whatsapp, a bit of photos, browsing, hardly any gaming (only words with friends), no navigation, no music.

        • It's not that bad, but you do have to have the radio and BB aligned with the requirements of the ROM, get it wrong and it burns energy and heats up.

Get it right and it can last days fine enough.

        • yes my ril matches the baseband

it can last days no worries.. if data is disabled.

  • lag lag and more lag…

coming from a galaxy nexus (in for repairs) back to my lg 2x how painful it is.

Installs are laggy, programs laggy (things always appear to pause for no reason).

Battery life is hopeless. it will last you 8 hours on a good day. decide to use the phone and you can cut hours of that. for example, i could play airport mania on my nexus (remember bigger screen) and i could go just over 3 hours on it. Same game on LG lucky if i got more than 1 hour 20 minutes on it.

Hey if you want to play with it fine, but I would not recommend this phone to anyone…

  • Thanks for the responses guys. It is difficult to gauge battery life because everyone has different uses/expectations, but lagging on a dual-core would suck.

Hopefully ICS improves things for both of you. My DHD is reasonable - I was just comparing the two on paper, but obviously with software issues, real usage won't immediately reflect the hardware. The only think I cannot reasonably discern from the two is still-camera performance (minus the better video on the 2X).
