with the absence of caveats in their T&Cs, there shouldn't be any limits imposed

        • What sort of misuse could there possibly be?

Paying too many bills? There's an account limit for that.

@YesPleaseThankYou: Surely some smart people may have found a way to cash out. I haven't explored it further so that no further info can be given. Actually, I haven't used the Zip BPay even once yet.

            • @Neoika: But you still have to pay all the money back to Zip pay anyway … even if you could cash out, that just generates you a repayment back to zip 🤷🏼‍♂️

  • Was just about to sign up for this feature, not sure if I should bother if there are still fees?

    • Sign up, I'm sure they will fix it

    • I have resorted to submitting the bills with the bpay fee, then putting a request for the bpay fees to be refunded.

      • how refund go ?

        • +1

Claimed 3 x $2.50 and they ended up crediting $10 as goodwill. But it's been good since late March, ie BPay fees no longer charged

  • So it is only for account with $1000 limit? Was hoping i can use this to pay tax bill and get some cc points

EDIT: wait it is for account with limit over 1000, how come it is still there for me…

  • Lodged a complaint for the Bpay fee and this is what I got, not going to “close my ticket”.

  • I just checked this morning and the $2.50 fee didn't appear, although it did for me last week. I hadn't used it previously.

    • Still $2.5 for me.

  • How does one increase their limit with Zip?

    • Only by invitation. Use it regularly and pay at least minimum off every month.

      • Yeah good just be able to have $0 fees on bpay.

  • +2

Tried to pay a bill just now, $2.50 fee added, I didn't make the payment. Instead, a ZIP single-use card was generated and paying with Post billpay (no need to have over $1000 limit), why bother with this free but not-free stuff?

    • Postbill pay isn't as widely supported as BPay. And harder to avoid credit card fees from the service provider.

  • Don’t find many councils that accept Post billpay.

  • +1

Didn’t add the $2.50 to my bill so seems to be working

  • +2

I just paid a bill and it also didn't seem to add the $2.50 fee. So the issue may be fixed now.

  • When paying zip bpay. It shows purchase as "ZipBills" without showing the biller code or reference number anymore. Does anyone experienced the same?

    • +1

      Same.

  • Is there a limit for bpay bills for newish accounts? ie I can't sign up right now and pay about 4k in bills straight away and have to wait months to slowly build up my limit with them first?

Also I see all the comments talking about balance at the end of the month, does that mean you can't choose to immediately pay off any balance owing like you can with afterpay or not?

    • You get up to $1k limit upon sign up. If it is not $1k, bad luck for BPay purpose. Limit increase is by invitation only later. You can pay off the balance after the transaction settles.

      • any quickest way to be offered invitation?

        • I don't know. It is unlikely as many received limit decrease notification.

  • +1

So if you have a limit of $1000 you still pay the fee? What’s the next limit about $1000? Like can it be $1001 or other sort of increments?

  • Paid a bill using ZipPay BPay and instantly repaid the outstanding amount only for Zip to lock my account. Called up this morning at 9am and they asked the the payment ID from the credit card link which I provided. Customer Service said they'll notify me via email once account is unlocked - account is still locked. Wondering if anyone else had similar experience and how long did it take for Zip to unlock the account? Thanks

    • Same after paying my super 3 times

  • Has anyone tried to Bpay into their Super from Zip?

    (concessional contribution before June 30)

    • Yes I have done 3 payments but then got locked out. Have had to call them to unlock my account

      • How long did it take for zip to unlock your account? Mine is still locked even though I have called and provided the info requested

        • +2

I usually submit a ticket since I don't need my account unlocked urgently. Submitted 14 May and resolved 16 May. It usually gets locked if I've recently added a new card and make a big purchase.

        • They said 2 business days for a response.

  • Not sure what I did, signed up and only got $350 limit…
Not able to increase the limit through the menu options either

    • They'll give you a larger limit as you use your account more. They won't give $2000 limits to new sign-ups

    • Did you choose PayPal or bank account to link?

I chose PayPal and also got $350.

I think they give you a higher one if you use bank account and have your salary being deposited there.

Wish I had known this BEFORE applying.

      • I setup my zip pay quite a while ago, but at that time initially you got a low limit and after using and repaying in full a number of times the limit was eventually increased to 2k.

Just received an email, BPAY fees are being removed entirely from 31st of July for all accounts. Monthly account fees going up to $9.95.

  • +1

So frustrating. Got the account unlocked and did two more Bpay payments to super and account locked again.
Legitimately I spend more time contacting zip to unlock my account than actually using their service!!

    • +1

Ah that’s damn annoying! Did you change payment CC?

  • Not sure why this says 30th January?

    The Zip Help https://help.zip.co/hc/en-us/articles/360001574976-How-do-I-….
    says 31st July 2023
