[Switch] Diablo II: Resurrected $23.00 (RRP $69.95) @ Nintendo eShop

700

Another notable deal from the current Nintendo Switch end-of-year eShop sale, pick up Diablo II: Resurrected at an all-time-low price of $23. That's 67% off!

Absolute bargain for one of the best RPGs ever made! Played hundreds of hours on PC and I've heard the Switch port is the perfect way to play on the go.

    Stay awhile and listen…

Never forget the Deckard Cain rap.

btw Switch does not support HD so this will look like original Diablo II lol

        • +5

That’s very disingenuous, the Switch port is running on the same foundation as the other platforms. The game renders 900p/30 in docked, albeit with significantly pared back textures and fine details (rubble, etc).
It’s still a decent increase in visual fidelity over the original, and the benefits of portable play.

        • +1

          Looks great on mine

      softly picks guitar

  • +2

Meanwhile… waiting for physical release. :D

    • +1

      It’s not happening.

      • One can only dream!!!

    • +1

Same. I hate digital releases. If they never do a physical release then I just won't buy it. Happy enough continuing to play D2 on an old PC whenever I feel the urge.

  • It is classic but is it still popular?

    • +3

Can't vouch for how popular it is among newcomers, but if you played the original on PC, Resurrected is 100% worth the purchase for the visual upgrade alone.

  • +3

I've been playing through on PS5, pleasantly surprised with how well it goes on console.
A few minor complaints on clunky inventory management and placing spells in exact spots, but totally playable and intuitive.
Makes me confident to go with console version for D4, never thought I'd see the day…

    • +1

Diablo 3 was solid on console too. I'll be picking up D4 on PS5 for sure if it's as decent as that was.

      • +1

Absolutely agree. D3 played great on console, better than D2 as it's a bit more arcade-y and built with console in mind.
I've sunk thousand + hours on D3 on PC, then a couple hundred on PS4 and Switch.
Confident they have nailed the consolefication for D4 based on previous experience, and saves me buying a new PC just for this too.
RTS is about the only reason I'd personally play on PC anymore, not as hardcore as I was 20 years ago

        • You sound like a bit more of a hardcore Diablo fan than me, but I've been playing since D1 and 2 on the PC when I was a youngun. Hopefully they don't F up the new one.

          • @Fappo: In my mind the only thing that could ruin d4 is the implementation of the battle pass. I've been trying not to read to much about it but if it's got pay to win elements then it'll be a hard pass for me

      • D4 would be like D3 +D2 except much bigger and more interactive. My only gripe is if they have the servers up and running also hopefully they would've tested out most of the bugs and crashes.

  • +1

Also $22.95 on battle.net for PC if anyone is interested.

      • jv's alt account

    • been holding out because i have game pass ultimate.. lol was hoping it'd be part of game pass with the MS acquisition… but that's looking less likely!

  • Anyone need a rush on PC Soft NA Ladder let me know!

    • +4

Would blizzard ever discount that low?

    • +3

Can't imagine someone who pays $90 every year for the latest Call of Duty, FIFA, MADDEN, etc…

    • At least 5 million people (5 million copies sold as of April 2022)

      1. Blizzard never discount that much…
      2. Minor graphic uplift… Fuk me, what were expecting?
  • +1

Does this run well on the switch?

    • +4

Digital Foundry reported a fairly consistent 30fps in their breakdown; certainly not a mess

Anyone playing Immortal on the Azmodan server?

  • +2

I've been playing this on PC - it's certainly a fun time! I played the original but am very happy with my choice of getting this.

  • 30fps vs 60 FPS any big difference on this game?

    • +2

Huge. You spend the whole game with the view panning across the screen so everything looks pretty rough and juddery at 30 while 60 looks and feels so much better.

  • +1

I've been playing this for a few days and man is it hard with even the slightest bit of drift. I regret giving trash Nintendo my money. This is my 5th stick to go.

    • -1

Kb and mouse is the way to go. Personally cant play d2 with a controller.

    • How's the actual game?

      • +1

Plays very well on a working switch, things like inventory management can be a bit slow but the gameplay is great. I prefer keyboard and mouse but it's very convenient on the go.

  • +2

Meh, 30 fps on switch. No thanks
    Ill stick to PC

    • +5

You click this link just to say that? Whats the point m8

      • +4

He convinced me not to buy it. I guess that’s a point

      • +2

My point is that they could have done better with the port. Diablo 3 Switch can go up to 60fps.

But it's not a dealbreaker for most.

        • +2

Almost bought Diablo 2, appears to be a good price.

          +1 For Diablo 3
Might wait for Diablo 3 to go on sale as it supports 4 player coop. A good feature to prevent the kids fighting

  • +1

Unfortunately the Prime Evil collection isn't on sale, even though it's discounted on the US eShop and Battle.net.

  • -1

Fuk! I just got an Xbox for Xmas and bought this on PC and Xbox in the last week… Am I going to buy it on a 3rd platform in a week?!!

  • +6

Damn, can you all stop posting switch deals, I buy every one and never play it , it's getting ridiculous

  • Why is the user score so low?
