Cheaper than 1TB selling for $257.24

The Sabrent 2TB Rocket Q4 NVMe PCIe 4.0 M.2 2280 Internal SSD delivers all the advantages of flash disk technology with PCIe Gen4.0 x4 interface. Based on QLC NAND Flash memory, its performance speeds can reach up to 4800 MB/s (read) and 3600 MB/s (write) when using a PCIe Gen4 motherboard. Using a PCIe Gen3 Motherboard Speeds will reach up to 3300 MB/s (read) and 3300 MB/s (write). Power consumption is much lower than traditional hard drives, making it the best embedded solution for new systems. The Sabrent 2TB Rocket Q4 NVMe PCIe 4.0 M.2 2280 Internal SSD was designed using PCIe 4.0 which allows for speeds of up to 4800 MB/s (read) and 3600 MB/s (write), significantly faster than PCIe 3.0.

Not a worry though, so long as we buy through Amazon, its Amazon who handle… everything.

You always have to remind the assistant you're in AU and covered by ACL, but the second you do, its "sorry, I didnt realise you were Australian" and then direct support all the way :)

Done many times from dozens of 'alternate sellers'.

  • Another wave of cancellations

    • Doesn't look like a price error based on 3 camels history. It's a budget QLC drive that was around $40 more in March this year and I don't think there were cancellation issues back then

    • Phison E16 (somewhat dated chipset) and QLC, I reckon this price is within the norm currently.

    I prefer the 2TB Crucial P5 plus which i paid $240 for.

  • qlc lmao

  • The Chinese company Yangtze Memory just get a breakthrough in the SSD chips, so all the prices of SSD being clasped

    • +1

Do you mean that SSD prices have collapsed because a Chinese company (Yangtze Memory) is now competitive with the established manufacturers in more expensive countries?

        • +1

Do you know what 232-layer NAND memory chips are for?

They are for PCIe gen 5 SSDs. With InnoGrit releasing Tacoma IG5669 PCIe gen 5 controller chipset, it needs a flash partner, preferably a Chinese NAND chip partner.

However, expect Yangtze Memory to do a fire sales on their latest NAND chips is wishful thinking. Also, we know Crucial, Samsung are all ready with 232L NAND chips (and WD/Sandisk most likely also ready).

InnoGrit + Yangtze PCIe gen 4 SSDs aren't cheap (at least not here). Until we see that combination offering 2TB PCIe gen 4 SSDs at or below $250 mark, why would you not go for WD or Samsung (or maybe Crucial)?

We know Crucial has 232L ready, Samsung is doing 236L, SK Hynix is working on 238L (and already have 232L ready), not sure about WD (but should be at least 232L). So Yangtze will have something to compete, but it is most likely not going to be leading the pack.

          • @netsurfer: Thinking of pulling the trigger with this.
Is now a good time to buy given all the buzz about the next gen and do I need a heat sink for this?

      • +1

Nah, he doesn't know the technology. That news is saying Yangtze Memory is (or will be) ready for providing NAND chips for PCIe gen 5 SSDs. Seeing 232L NAND chips on PCIe gen 4 SSDs is wishful thinking. It's an overkill and why would Yangtze sell PCIe gen 5 NAND chips at a heavily discounted price?

InnoGrit + Yangtze PCIe gen 5 SSDs at PCIe gen 4 SSD prices is wishful thinking. PCIe gen 4 SSDs based on InnoGrit chipset aren't cheap (because if they are, we would have seen lots of OZB deals on those).

I was mostly just trying to decode the broken English, but even so, your contribution certainly adds value =) .

  • is it ok to plug this directly into PS5?

  • Does this have DRAM?
