OLED at this price would be tempting

Tech specs are sort of irrelevant for this console imo

    • Yeah, if you don't need/want it urgently, the different OLED models go on sale for sub $400, or can be brought under $400 with discounted gift cards. In September I got a Splatoon one and a Neon for under $400 using discounted gift cards and I've seen them come up since, including the Pokemon one without needing discounted gift cards. My favourite is the Splatoon one, but not everyone likes it.

Not exactly a good deal as this was $339 from Amazon like 5 months ago. Also the OLED version went as low as $429 just on Xmas on Amazon as well.

    • +4

One of the different OLED models was $370 the other day

      • Exactly my point.

    Meh, that's not a bargain

  • +3

    Should be $299

  • I had no idea the price of this went up. I checked my order history and I purchased a switch on 17 Dec 2018 for 359.10 delivered at Amazon.

I wonder why the prices have been going up

This is the "version 2" which improves battery life a bit. The price has always been around $429 at retail and often went on sale for sub $350 and less.

Nintendo is pulling off the biggest heist at these prices.

    • Yet stil no Switch 2 until at least 2024. The newer BOTW 2 will be rumored to come with a new customised OLED bundle rather than a new console. Quite dissapointing tbh as the Switch hardware at this point is straight up dragging third party game development and utilisation.

      • If their 7 years old Switch continues to sell fine then Nintendo will delay releasing a newer Switch for longer. 3rd party game developers will lower their game resolutions to accommodate it.

I simply refuse to support them at this point. Steam Deck though, that's another story.

          • @Grey 13: I hated Nintendo for delaying the release of Zelda breath of the wild on Wii U because of Switch (some hardcore fans believed Nintendo did it to celebrate Nintendo 35th anniversary LOL). However they do have some exclusive good games….

  • No deal. This is inferior model.

  • not a good deal mate

  • OLED or bust… or wait until the fabled (imaginary?) Switch Pro
