  • People seem reasonable happy with it generally.

They only show 10 of 12 reviews, be interesting to see what the other two said :-)

I guess the price is pretty good if you can pick up. Else, it's only about $20 to $25 extra from a couple of other places inc delivery.

    Wife approves.

She could see it from the kitchen?

That one star energy rating will cost you more in electricity in the long term… Sometimes a bargain isn't always a bargain.

  • $275 + $46.95 delivery = $321.95 from masters website. I found the same dryer inc free delivery for $299 at appliancesonline.com.au. Are they reliable, which store do you guys suggest I buy it from…..Thnx

  • whatever happened to that guy who invented a energy efficient clothes dryer? Instead of an element it was supposed to heat up via similar method to an oil heater. Was meant to be rather cheap still too. He could even retrofit an element dryer…. sounded so good…this was over 10years ago….why no energy efficient dryers? Hulk sad :(

The most electricity efficientdryer is the hills.

      • The hills tends to go on the blink during periods of of extended inundation however.

      Better efficiency dryers are here:

Condenser, Heat pump, Mechanical steam compression, Gas.

The most efficient dryer on the planet is also free.

The sun is on our planet now? (reaches for the spf30+)…
        ;)

  • Heat pump dryers are the way to go, much better energy efficiency (6 stars vs this dismal 1 star Haier above). Only prob though, the HP ones are ridiculously expensive in Australia, and there's a very limited selection available.

I've been researching threads on various forums, including the awesome thread on WP where one guy imported all his Miele appliances from the UK, and saved many, many thousands in the process. I'm going to see if I can do the same for a HP dryer, doing some quick sums, I should be able to get a top of the range Bosch one for about a third or half the price shipped, compared to the price of one here.

  • Standard everyday price, poor energy rating makes this very dear to run.

  • For those looking for a slightly better energy rating (2 stars instead of 1) plus more features, this model is $387 with free delivery to most places:

Or this for $347 if you would like a sensor dry model (1.5 stars) which helps reduce wasted power by over-drying clothes:

  • I just picked up the GVA (House Brand) 6kg for $265
    http://www.thegoodguys.com.au/buyonline/GVA_6kg_Dryer_GVA6KG

    2 Star energy rating.

Negatives I noticed using it today, it has 4 pre selects rather than actual timer, the lint catcher is not ideal if turned upside down as our is.
If it is upside down, it also looks to have the door a little higher than the Haier .

Quieter than the Hoover it replaced though.

  • The OP lives in the Gold Coast, I hear clothes dry all by themselves there in just a few hours on a line, even in the shade!

  • Not with all the rain we've had in the last week. :P

  • You could have used the 10% off coupon from there facebook page and it could had been $27.50 cheaper.
