A tip from Atlas:

Switch to USD as the currency at the last stage and pay $50.96 USD. According to Google this will come out at $49.85 AUD, and if you pay using your 28 degrees card it should come pretty close to this.

Has anybody ever actually established that it's cheaper per watt-hour (or watt-ever - I crack myself up) to recharge batteries rather than buying a 30-pack of AAA's from the Cheapie store for a fiver? (I think my last lot of 30 cost $5.99 or whatevs, and six months later I've still got 20 of them unused).

After all, recharging is NOT costless - you suck some leckie out of the wall and put it in the batteries, with line loss and so forth, and that costs monies.

So has someone independent of government and enviro-whackjobs established that

($ per recharge)×(number of recharges in battery's life)

    is less than

    ($5.99/30)×(number of recharges)

when appropriately discounted (accounting for uncertain length of life of rechargeables, possible failure of the charger, rampant inflation in leckie charges etc)? I find that hard to believe, and my investigations tend to make me think "Nuh-uh".

Obviously I'm not counting any silly 'superior person' satisfaction that might accrue to people who think that their rechargeable-battery-use is saving the planet or some other such quasi-religious idiocy (i.e., people dumb enough to believe what the political class tells them to).

  • hey guys, has anyone received theirs yet??
