You don't have to click it.

Scotty told me to stop being so over the top with it, and I have, I stopped posting all the junk and am focusing on finding decent deals for you guys. That takes time, I don't have a job (doesn't mean I'm not applying) so some cash on the side can come in handy, which I'm sure you can appreciate. From Amazon there is a long process to finding deals, first you have to actually find a decent price for a product, then make sure it is shipped, and then make sure it is shipped again (some don't say until checkout that they don't ship (and some say they do but then don't)) and then get the final price. Over 10/100s of products that can take a long time,

    • +5

I don't mind an affiliate link as long as an alternative direct link is given too. good deal btw.

    • +3

Better in someone locals pocket than Amazons.

    • +29

      Whats wrong with affiliate link?

The person found a deal and you saved $$$$.

Even if there is an alternative direct link, I find it funny that someone will use it. The only reason I can think of is you don't want that person to make money. Come on it's not you who will pay him. True that it's your money that will be used to pay him but even without affiliate link, you still pay the same.

Do a favour to people who do you a favour or this world will be full of selfish people.

    • +2

Wow piss has really been flushed with that comment!

      • whoops didnt mean to hit neg… piss sure has been negged a lot for his selfish comment and attitude

  • You say the charger is suitable for 240V, but I dont think it's going to be as easy as just plugging it in. The US sockets arent the same as our sockets and if they're including a US plug top then it physically wont fit - even if the voltage is supported.

Am I wrong in this, or do we need to factor in the price of an adapter as well? Admittedly some people may have them already, and they are cheap from DX / Meritline / etc.

    • +2

Adapter is $2.50 shipped from Hong Kong as mentioned in the description :)

      • +1

Did you edit that, or am I just blind as buggery? I swear I re-read that post multiple times to make sure there was no mention of US/AUS compatibility first sigh

        • +6

Hahaha, nope, I made sure it was there when I posted it originally lol.

        • +1

          You are blind :D

        • +1

Did you edit that, or am I just blind as buggery?

No problem just wait for a deal on Cataract surgery ;-)

        • +1

Wait until clearly contacts gives away more free glasses, like a true ozbargainer.

  • Thanks Shaw, the pack has everything I need. Just placed an order.

    • +1

      Np mate, happy to help.

  • +1

Is the charger in this pack any good? Is it the quick version?

    • Not sure whether it is the "quick version".

But these reviews say they charge fast: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/817165-REG/Sanyo_SEC_N…

It is the 'MDR02' if that helps.

      Further digging:

The AC charger is designed for charging either 2 or 4 pcs. AA or AAA eneloop or other Ni-MH batteries. It can charge four AA rechargeable eneloop batteries in 7 hours or charge four AAA rechargeable eneloop batteries in 6 hours.

  • Darn it! Another batteries at bargain price. Too much batteries on my hand.

    • +2

Can never have too many batteries mate, just as you think you have everything covered, someone will gift you something that "excludes batteries"!

      • I have like more than 40pcs of AA Eneloop on hand…also about 12-16 AAA

darn Ozbargain, not sure what to do with them :P

        • +8

          Build a reactor ?

    • +1
      • Nice price, what I don't understand is how Amazon can ship a product for slightly more than a warehouse just down the road, it is crazy.

        • +3

Simple, aus post looses a small amount of money everytime a letter is posted and parcels are used to make up the loss (and then some).

Because of the quick fall in letters thanks to SMS, email, Skype and so on less letters are being posted.

So now all the extra money from parcels are mostly profit, in turn aus post has decided that since they have made record profits lately that they are bumping up the price of their service?

So thanks to the lack in competition it costs us more to post a small parcel across town then it does the same parcel from the other side of the world.

        • +1

I have noticed quite a lack of competition here. Home(NZ) is the same too, although there is slightly more competition from companies such as Fastways. Mum's online store offers flat rate $5 shipping, she tends to break even with some parcels costing less to post and some costing more. Aus being a larger land mass doesn't help the prices either I guess, shipping to the west is horrendously expensive, probably cheaper to book a flight from Perth to Sydney, pick up your new computer and fly back (on a LCC ofcorse).

        • According to yahoo answers USA is bigger but your point on competition in very valid also things (this is an assumption) such as lower wages wouldn't hurt.

      • Steptoe, have you tried those batteries? I want to know if they really are LSD, if so they would be the highest-capacity LSD NiMH batteries I have seen anywhere.

Hobbyking used to sell 2200mAh LSD AA batteries, and I have seen several reports that they are good LSD batteries. Now those are always listed as "on backorder", and only the 2400mAh batteries are shown as in stock. I am curious/dubious about a 2400mAh LSD AA NiMh battery, if Turnigy can make an LSD battery of that capacity, then why can't Sanyo/Panasonic?

        • +1

if you click on the Amazon deal, scroll down & you'll see a table comparing various Eneloop batteries

short answer: Eneloop have 2500mAh, but they are expensive & shorter life(500 cycle)
          http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/91ZJDSe-WpL.AA1500.jpg

does anyone have any idea/picture how the battery case looks like? and is it a see-through case?

        • are they xx, xxx, or xxxx?

        • +1

Not used them as they seem to be backorder all the time, until now. Search Turnigy or Hobbyking in comments for others experiences.

The 2400mAh now supersedes the 2200mAh.

        • Thanks for that, I didn't know there are now 2500mAh Sanyo Eneloops, the "Sanyo XX" batteries:
          http://www.amazon.com/Sanyo-Capacity-Pre-Charged-Rechargeabl…

Now I need to read up, to find out if the Turnigy batteries have a life past 500 charges…

      • I've been waiting for these to come back in stock… haven't been in stock in YONKS

      • the turnigy seem very cheap at $1.50 per battery

very attractively prices lcd AA and AAA batts at $1.60 each !!!

        • found this in the comments.. though I guess you could make a bunch of separate orders?

          quote

"You can only buy one of these batteries unless you pay for registered postage- Makes purchasing them VERY expensive. Postage for 8 batts on their own $14. If you include it with another order going registered almost doubles the postage cost. Even though it's only a NiMH, they still apply the same 3000mah limit they use for lipos."

      • thanks for the tip steptoe, just bought 4 x 900mAH AAA for $6.95 shipped!

  • Thanks for the post OP. Got 1.

  • shaw - I like this, but I need 4 x C converters total (pack has 2). Can you advise the best way to get this pack, plus additional 2 converters/best price?

I'll make sure I use your affiliate link. Thanks.

    • +3

I'll see what I can find mate, may be difficult to find on their own.

Actually, on the product page there is an option for '2 C spacers and 2 AA's' for $9.

      • Cool yep, found that just then :) I've added to the cart and appears to be all good.

        Sweet. Thanks Shaw.

        • No problem at all mate, enjoy.

  • +4

Here's a tip. Switch to USD as the currency at the last stage and pay $50.96 USD. According to Google this will come out at $49.85 AUD, and if you pay using your 28 degrees card it should come pretty close to this.

    • I am not able to switch currency as I cannot see the switch currency button/icon on the final stage of payout. How do you do it. Thanks

      • Figured it out, I had amex set as my card, but when I changed to mastercard the option to siwtch now appears.

  • +5

Gents - this is the standard 2 prong US plug right? We can just bend it a little, I've done plenty of times before with US plugs. Really need to spend another $2.50 for a clunky converter? This is Ozbargain afterall!!!

    • Can just imagine someone trying to do this and snapping one of the prongs clean off! Is there a video on how to do it? Like how far to bend them and such?

      • +1

Its not usually very hard. I've changed my mind with this though, in case the charger has the prongs built into the case, then you don't want to bend them.

Plenty of places to get a US>AU plug converter online for a few bucks, so its a non issue :)

Just placed my order. Was very careful to make sure I clicked it thru via the affiliate link (deleted items and went back thru via it a few times! haha) Thanks for your deal finding efforts :)

        • Haha yea, easier just to pay the extra couple of $$'s for an adapter.

No problem at all mate, anytime.

      • Get an Aussie plug and bend to match. I've done it a few times, you can usually tell beforehand if the plug is dodgy and will likely break if you try and bend them. But that said, you can pick up adapters for $1 of eBay, so it's probably not worth it.

        • Yea, not really worth the risk either way, I linked to a universal one, which would be useful for more than just this, wish I had taken one to Singapore!

  • +1

Sounds like a good deal. The batteries alone are worth $40 plus shipping. But how good is the charger? Is it a "dumb" one?

It's the only thing holding me back, because I already have enough eneloop batteries and a smart charger so I don't really need this, but if that charger is smart and auto stops charging when full, then I'll find it hard to resist just on value alone. Can the charger also discharge a battery?

These batteries still have capacity memory don't they?

      • I don't think it is, because the description on Amazon says that the charger has LEDs that indicate when the batteries are charging and full, and the pictures in your link don't have that.

If it is that one, then I might pass on this offer.

        • Charge-Indicator
          4 LEDs

          ;)

        • It says that, but where are these leds exactly?

          EDIT: You were right.

          Here's the unboxing: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l8CVUNq10vE

I think I will pass. The batteries alone still make it a good deal, but since I have more than I need (I can't think of too many AA devices that don't include batteries) I will pass for now.

  • got one! Thnx op!

  • ordered one with an adapter, thanks for the good finding op.

  • Looks like a great deal. Is it possible to get chargers with very short charging times to use with these batteries (i have heard that you can get chargers that charge in as quick as 15 minutes). Any links to a decent one that would be compatible with these batteries would be fantastic

    • I believe that faster charging can sacrifice life of the batteries, so consider that potential.

  • Shaw, Is this deal a limited time offer? I have to wait prob a week….

    • I don't imagine so, you could just subscribe/add a reminder or bookmark it, but it should still be the same or a similar price.

  • i've been umming and ahhhing this all night, and was just about to bite the bullet and get these

    but i saw this

    http://www.amazon.com/Sanyo-Eneloop-Pre-Charged-Rechargeable…

2 less AA battery, but for $10 more it comes with fast charger? thoughtS?

    • I prefer the faster charger , just hassle to remember to take them out especially the 14-16 hours ones.
BUT the above quick charger can only charge 2 at at time AND can not be shipped to Oz.

      • Use Shipito.

    • Amazon cant ship that item to Australia anyway

  • This charger seems to have good reviews http://www.amazon.com/Sony-BCG34HRE4KN-Refresh-Pre-Charged-B…

But is there anything better and cheaper?

  • Arguably 2 or 4 battery cell Chargers are NOT considered Smart Chargers. Individual channel chargers allowing 1,2,3 or 4 batteries are preferable. Although eneloops are well balanced, it would seem a pity to to put your expensive [gold standard] LSDs at risk by charging them in pairs. (Also some appliances, eg LED torches only use 1 or 3 cells).

Personally, I would disregard the inclusion of this basic charger [other than as a temporary backup unit] in the package price.

  • +2

ok thanks for all the battery deals….
now its time for some new separate deals for good chargers…. start searching ozbargainers.

  • So this charger is no good? I've been meaning to get some eneloops for a while now for my z96 video light to stop the flicker/strobing and a Canon battery grip.

I don't really mind that it's slower, but does it stop the charge automatically when the battery is full? If not, will it harms the batteries to keep them charging after they are full? (battery newb here!)

    • For peace of mind, it would probably pay to get a smart charger, although this does have a 16 hour auto shut off timer, so they will not charge for extensive periods of time regardless.

      • I have this charger from a previous deal- Sanyo NC-MDU01. I think that one is a smart charger?

        • http://www.eneloop.info/products/chargers/sets-with-mdu01.ht… this one is AC powered, your one is USB ;)

        • Sorry for the confusion. I know mine isn't the same as the one in this deal, I was just asking if the one I have is a decent charger?

        • Ohh, just search the model number/look at the product on Amazon, I am not really sure. I don't imagine a USB charger would be a 'smart charger' though, but I could (and most likely am) be wrong.

  • Cheers for the deal been waiting for something like this!

    I also bought this:
La Crosse Technology Alpha Power Battery Charger, BC1000
    http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004J6DLD4/ref=oh_details_o…

    • How does the BC700 differ from the BC1000?

      • I felt the BC1000 was better value, for an extra $27.
See below for details, main difference that I could tell was the 1000 does up to 1000mA and the 700 does up to you guessed it 700mA and I read somewhere on some other forums that the eneloops ideally should be charged on 1000.
Also for the extra bucks you get La Crosse AA and AAA batteries, C and D converters and a carry bag! :)

        • But in the description itself that you posted it says: Automatically defaults to 200mA charge (the optimal setting for prolonging battery life)

So anything higher that this merely means it will reduce the total charging time? Is that correct?

I can't decide between these models and the maha c9000.

        • To the best of my limited understanding yes but I am no expert :)

I think if you go to http://www.candlepowerforums.com/vb/forum.php there is some discussion on there comparing them all etc.

  • Thanks, OP. Ordered one. Great deal!

  • help! it won't let me checkout the adaptor!
tells me it won't ship to my address?
i also wanted this, and it won't let me
    http://www.amazon.com/Sanyo-Eneloop-Spacer-Pack-Packaging/dp…
    thanks!

    • Using a PO box?

      • no, just a regular residental address…
the batteries can be delievered, but the adaptor can't be, as well as the AA to D converters….

        • +1

I had the same problem on the adapter, for some reason it seemed to go to 2 different links the 'crazy-store ships from Hong Kong' won't ship but the 'buyincoins ships from hong kong' will.

Try this direct link to the buyincoins one http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000YN01X4/ref=sc_pgp__m_A1…

        • Sorry about that guys, not sure why it wouldn't work, I tested it a few times.

        • +1

          thanks skian! really appreciate it!
dont know why it does what it does, but managed to get around it this time :)

          just purchased, thanks Shaw!

        • No problem mate, enjoy.
