This deal is worded better, letting people know that it is for any skin, not just the fan. "DeWalt" should be added to title though.

EDIT: Not any skin but selected 18V XR skin

      • +1

The description of the other post had the direct link to the DeWalt redemptions website showing the full list. They used the fan as the cheapest skin option to get the redemption.

    • That deal just mentions the fan.

      • +9

While the other deal mentions onlyFans this one mentions GRINDR

      • That's just an example. There are plenty more 18V XR skins that are eligible.

  • Still waiting for a battery from an offer earlier this year! No way to track it they basically sent an email to confirm then one later to say delayed so no idea whats happened and no way to follow-up.

This is instant in store redemption atleast

    • It is instant instore, even the previous promotion that I got

  • Jigsaw any good?

Appears the cordless vac is included in the battery + charger bonus. Probably works out at less than $100 for the unit. If you compare it to the Ozito unit which is $89 and does not come with a flexi hose, this is a pretty good deal.

I bought this vac when it was full price and can recommend it. Has inbuilt LED and a flexi hose which is good for doing cars + stick for general floors. Also can be clipped to belt - https://www.bunnings.com.au/dewalt-18v-xr-li-ion-cordless-l-…

    Short video in action: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/iPPljcbayps

    • the vacuum shows up for $199. How do you mean by less than $100 for the unit ?

      • You can sell the battery and charger combo for $110 on marketplace.

    • That's what happened last time they had a similar deal. I went to three Bunnings, each telling me that the next one had the battery. The third pointed back to the first.

  • I bought the reciprocating saw skin yesterday and the “knowledgeable” Bunnings man didn’t even mention that bonus offer. Paid ~$265 then found the exact saw WITH charger and 5ah battery for $40 cheaper. Weird because Bunnings owns TOOLKITDEPOT where I bought it online free post. Returned it 24 hours later.

    • Yeah weird.
Then I guess we can price match against themselves!

Greedy Bunnings will take anyone for a ride who is unaware. Best to do your research and shop elsewhere first.

    • Last month I was in the same situation, but on check out, there was a buzz and a warning message on the cashier's screen, so the unknowledgeable Bunnings girl told me about that bonus.

    • I had similar experience with the last promotion. Seems like Bunnings marketing and the ground staff are disconnected. I had to show the 2 staff in the tools section the promotion page. Even then they did not know how to enter the bonus batteries into the system, so they charged me 1 cents each LOL.

    • New deal up, $182 price match for the recip.

  • To Bunnings that is

  • The compact recip saw only seems to have half the power output of it's big brother (not included in this promo) :(

    589 W vs 1475 W
    1.43 kg vs 3.5 kg

Half the weight but also half the power. Hmm…

Guess it depends on the use. But unlike a driver that you might use repeatedly for hours it's not exactly a tool you use for a long time. You make the cut and move on. Therefore I think I would almost always prefer more power vs lighter weight.

Any other real world benefits of the compact model?

    • +1

Single handed use is the big benefit. Very handy not just for overhead use but also for arborial work like pruning or trimming branches.

      • Have you used it? What size branches or timber can it realistically handle?

        • +1

Not that one but ive got a full sized earlier dewalt and bosch blue recips both are not suitable for single handed use and the dewalt especially vibrates like hell. Use the right blade and any recip should be fine for up to 100mm branches, plenty of youtube tests out there.
FWIW I got Bosch's top of the line recip with 8ah battery and charger for about the same as the dewalt on offer here via a bunnings bosch redemption deal about 12 months ago.

      • Last December there was a similar deal, applicable to all skins, and I chose that compact one for the exactly same reason.

    • +3

Damn. I'm getting negged for providing specs and asking for objective feedback on tools in the promotion?? Tough crowd.

      • +1

        You've got 1+ from me. Don't worry.

  • Its not part of the promotion, but if you scroll down there is a range of DeWalt EV chargers…wow, i didnt know they existed…they could be amazing, but probably better for those who dont need an interior designer!

  • I wish DeWalt would bring back their 12V range. My old 12V drill and impact driver gets used the most by far. Eventhough I have all the 18V stuff.

The hand vacuum has now dropped to $179 it was $199 yesterday. The Bunnings store did not have the battery kit in stock but instead gave me separate individual items for the charger and battery.

    • Just got back from picking it up, was expecting the $199 and thankfully dropped to $179. Nobody in the shop was aware of the deal, if it was supplied there in the shop or redemption but one of the team members sorted it out. Great deal!

  • Tool Kit Depot has 10% off most of the Dewalt tools with redemptions at the moment. Just bought the vaccuum for $179.10 with the battery and charger bonus.
