    Any bargains?

Plenty, what are you after? I can help you with sizing on shoes because it can be vastly different across brands, or even within the same brand.

  • Price as marked?

    ‘Up there’ is right.

  • Do they sell socks?

Spent over 1k on new years day, got the email this arvo and yelled, "FUUUUUUUUUUCK!!!!!"

Then spent another 1k on Be@rbricks, AF1s and a NP Goretex jacket. Would've spent more but my dog and her vet bills are seriously ruining my yolo-buy-everything lifestyle

    • +1

Damn, you have too much money

      • +4

Not really. I never pay retail. Being single, no kids, no mortgage helps a lot.

A huge chunk of my expenses now is all dog related because I adopted her at 9 (couldn't get insurance) and she's turning 14 in March. She's allergic to everything so can only have Royal Canin Hypoallegenic which is $200-250 for 14kg, but I wait for sales and use cashback to get it down to $150ish and stock up. Her BS supplement 4cyte is $100 for 100g, but I got 3 today on ebay for $246. When she needs antibiotics like Cephalexin, I get it from my GP rather than paying 10x at the vet.

I meal prep and rarely eat out. I buy produce that's in season, and meats that aren't prime cuts. I love offal and off-cuts anyway. I buy whole chickens and break them down myself, and keep the frame to make stock.

I just did a major service on my car - pretty much changed every fluid and filter, brake pads (which I got for half price) and spark plugs - which saved me well over a grand.

I drive an old Subaru that is completely stock, except for new soundsystem and a 30mm lift, which I did myself.

I do all household renos/maintenance myself, including plumbing and electrical (shhhh). Saved over $150k just on bathroom and kitchen..

I share PWs for streaming services. I only pay for Disney+ (which almost pays for itself by taking those surveys) and Prime, but also have access to Netflix, Youtube Premium and Music, Stan, Binge and Hayo.

I religiously use Flybuys and and get the bonus points; I got a letter a couple years ago that said I was in the top 10% in the country. I once got an iPad for mum just with points, but now I convert to Flybuys Dollars which pays for groceries and beer.

My lifetime rewards is almost $6k on Cashrewards and $3.6k on Shopback.

I spend a lot on designer clothes and shoes (I don't consider the stuff on UpThere as designer, more like overpriced streetwear), but you wouldn't be able to tell because there's no obvious branding. I mostly buy Japanese and German watches. I've only bought a Rolex once, but as a gift. I would never buy any Rollies, Omegas etc. for myself

Most things I buy has to have a good rep for lasting forever, or keep value if I decide to sell. For eaxample: my old mono Fuji-Xerox MFC died after 15 years of service, I took it apart and tried to fix it before splurging on a Brother MFC-L8690CDW for 600 bucks

All my whisk(e)y were bought ages ago when it was cheap.

I don't know why I typed all of this. Maybe because it's the weekend and I'm bored at home, or perhaps that I'm well aware that I can be a bit obnoxious here and can come across as an entitled trust fund kid, but it's mosty an act and makes using OzB more fun and interesting. I don't "have too much money" - sometimes max out my cc during sales - but other than that, I think I'm pretty responsible with my cash. I would describe myself as frugal, but generous.

i appreciate your comment, nice little reflection and self awareness situated in a lowkey post that will never pick up. cant hate on that vibe!

        • +2

Thanks for that, good to see some peeps quite responsible with their dough. But honestly, you dont need to justify how you spend your own money to anyone. You make the money, and spend it how you see fit.

        • +1

Dunno why you have to justify stuff, if you spend a lot who cares just make sure you can afford it.

      • most of ozbargainers are financially comfortable enough. you arent saving money here.

  • +4

Hey OP, I appreciate your post even though others don't. OzB can be a bit weird when it comes to fashion. Imagine posting Margiela GATs for $700 or Rick Owens Geobaskets for $1k "on sale" at SSENSE here; you'd get the completely original "thanks bought 10" or "those are ugly af" type comments

  • +1

This 20% off is after they jacked prices

    • Some bearbricks were already on sale and another 20% makes them quite cheap compared to other suppliers

  • +1

a little disingenuous of them since they put things back to full price when previous sale price is still cheaper - e.g https://fashionlane.com.au/Product/Search?query=viberg

  • Is the only shipping option $20 express?
