Love furys minimalistic but also cool looking design thats not too big or anything

still have four ddr3 hyper x fury sticks running in the family pc rig, looks fine as

  • The same but 5200MT/s was $<180 recently, is more than double worth the extra 400MT/s do you think, or somewhat negligible?

    • +7

that was a pricing error, 2x8gb was delivered

Can confirm they shipped 2x8gb. After some back and forth with the customer support they let me keep the 2x16gb ram and they refunded me too.

I would be curious as to what others got out of them for the pricing error?

        • I got much the same, offered to keep it and refunded as a gift card balance to my account. Not as good as money back but still a win and the Bezobucks are as good as cash for me personally.

I sweet-talked them into letting me return the 2x8gb kit in exchange for the 2x32GB 5600MT/s kit

Basically order the 2x32GB kit now, and then when they receive the 2x8gb kit they'll refund the cost of the bigger kit

Bit of a hassle, but can't complain given how I'll only end up paying $170 for a $450 kit

          • @Jolakot: That's impressive. All they gave me was a 10% discount on what I originally ordered and I needed to return it for refund.

Edit: I persisted and told them what you guys got and they gave me a full refund and let me keep it. 😊

@AFM7: Always worth asking live chat to confirm the details before ordering a gamble like this, as they'll usually bend over backwards for you if you can prove that they told you it was x item beforehand

If all else fails, act incredulous that the previous support rep 'lied' to you about the item and ask to speak to a supervisor about the matter. Bit of a Karen move, but this seems to unlock their full discretion to provide 'one-off exceptions'

              • @Jolakot: I had the same experience. Screenshotted the page with the title & 2x chat sessions with Amazon where they stated I would receive the 64GB product.
When the wrong items were received, I had a lot of back and forth with an Amazon agent, then escalated to a supervisor, and after a while they made an "exception" (after mentioning the proof and inconvenience caused); refunded the money and I was able to keep the sent items.

        • Initially nothing. Then $5 credit. Eventually they let me order the 64GB kit and will refund the difference after I return the 16GB one via promotional credit. Not as good as cash, but I'll inevitably use it anyway.

          • @SydStrand: Took me a lot of back and forth. Went from return + refund and a $5 credit, which I haggled to $10 to $25 to $50 and finally to refund without return

Whao. Buy this and be spec ready for 2027 Games

  • This for $449, 64GB DDR4 for less than $300 or 32GB DDR5 6000 MT/s for less than $300?

    • +2

Are you referring to the 32gb Team T Force DDR5 6000 for $299? That is a sweet deal, I grabbed for my upcoming build.

DDR5 6000 is the sweet point for AM5 processors.

Go AM5 if you want to future proof, go AM4 if you are short on coin and want bang for buck (great prices atm)

      • Not any specific one actually, I've found Kingston Fury Beast DDR5 32GB (2x16GB) 6000MT and CORSAIR VENGEANCE DDR5 32GB (2x16GB) 6000MHz C36 for less than $300 on Amazon. At the same price you can find 64 GB DDR4. I plan to build an intel 13000 based system, I'm torn between which memory is more reasonable to pursue. Is a perceived future-proofing worth that much of a price difference? I could go for a 13900 with DDR4 instead of a 13700 with DDR5 for instance

        • The RAM I was sharing is CL30.

I'm not sure on your usage but unless your a developer I doubt you will need 64gb of ram before you are due to rebuild again.

More RAM does nothing to help a system if you do not need it. You are better off putting that money into better RAM with tighter timings.

Im not running Intel in my new build, AMD overtook them last generation, so can't give you any advice there sorry. Havnt researched the losing team ;)

          • @Madkant: I know, I am a developer. Imho AMD is not currently the winning team, but things could change.

This is the RAM I grabbed. I actually missed on first round but signed up for restock notification and scored some on recent restock.

OP knows his stuff and is worth a read.

  • When did ram get so expensive?

( Been out of the loop for years )

      Latest and greatest - ddr5

    • +3

imo RAM has been coming down in price recently. You might be thinking this is high if comparing to DDR4 prices, but this is DDR5 which is the next gen and still relatively new to the consumer market.

    • It's actually not. $/GB is lower than it's ever been, and as pointed out earlier, this is DDR5 and will likely leave what you have in the dust.

  • Note the ASUS QVLs report what they tested, not what chips a given model necessarily has. ASUS shows for example KF556C40BBK2-32 (the 32GB kit of these) as Hynix M, but forum feedback indicates it can be either Hynix or Samsung, and I ended up with the latter. So if you're buying this specifically for Hynix, you also want to confirm everyone else is reporting that's what the 64GB kits are.

    • Wow so Samsung chips on Kingston is a thing now

  • Are Hynix generally better than Samsung?

    • +1

Generally, it is the other way around, at least for DDR4. However, it is not just on the brand. It depends on the batches. All makers make different grades of memory modules.

  • Thanks! bought!
