Great iPad mount that isn't trash like some of the ones on Amazon.
This is the mount apple lists on their site for iPads.

Actually holds iPad pros firmly.

Clearing out 1st gen as 2nd gen is avaliable.

Some of reviews says problem with larger iPad pros :(

  • I have one of these with an 11” iPad and have it mounted next to my monitor for Sidecar or watching shows while I work, works really well!

  • hmm thinking to put my samsung galaxy tab on this. will check the size
duh, my galaxy height is 24.9cm, the holder says max 22cm so i cant put the tablet horizontally

HoverBar Duo can fit any device with a minimum height of 127 mm and a maximum height of 220mm

  • Thanks Op, these are almost never on sale

  • I can definitely recommend one of these.

Dimensions of the cradle when at minimum "grip" is 13cm, maximum is 22cm. Metal construction for the arms and base, can be tightened with an Allen key if need be.

Fits my iPad Pro 10.5" and Surface Go 2 in landscape orientation, since both are 17.3cm. Obviously using them with a bluetooth keyboard and mouse and not the snap-on keyboards.

Maximum lift height (arm extended, from the table to the base of the cradle) is almost 25cm, so is quite tall. Has weight to it, so when it's in use, it won't tip over easily when tapping away at the screen. Tiny bit of wobble at that height of course.

I'll pick up a second one at this price. Thanks OP

    • "Fits my iPad Pro 10.5" in landscape orientation"
      @BuzzPuppy
maybe you mean vertically/portrait ? i google the ipad size is 25cm in height so cant fit
i have similar issue with my samsung tablet i want it landscape/horizontal, but its 24cm

      • Portrait = vertical

Landscape = horizontal / "widescreen" if that helps.

I'm guessing your Samsung Tablet (10.1") is 25cm in portrait, and 19cm in landscape

        • yes thats what i mean i want to watch a movie so the tablet will need to be put in landscape. and the length is 24cm whilst the holder can only hold 22cm
          (your ipad is 25cm)

oh, i see. just put it portrait and then rotate it ? duh.. im dumb

Qn, What is the difference between Gen1 & Gen2 version?

Better materials? Newer features? Full on Yoga mode??

    • +1

Found this on Twelve South's website.

Both models share the same adjustable arm and iPad clip. The Gen 2 is available in a beautiful Matte White finish and features a new quick release tab that makes it very quick & easy to switch between the HoverBar desktop base and shelf clamp. This makes it a truly dual-use iPad stand. Use it on your desk with the weighted base all day. Then snap it into the shelf clamp - already attached in the kitchen - to follow a recipe for dinner. The Gen 1 also has both stand options, but you typically decide which option you want initially, then install the desired base or clamp with an included Hex tool. It also is costs $20 less. So, if you really just want one style of stand, Gen 1 is a great choice and will save you some cash.

Which basically means to me, that with gen 2, there's a white version and you can easily change the mount (base vs clamp) type. I don't own either so can't attest to the claims. It may very well do yoga for you too.

      • +1 for the informative reply post.

        It’s a bit $$$ at $140 msrp. It’s a glorified stand&holder for smartphones, tablets, iPads.

Seems pretty useful but not worth the asking price of $140.
