Kat Walk C - $800 + Delivery ($0 ADL C&C) @ VR Zone

80

Hi All,

Stumbled onto a VR treadmill that has been massively reduced (Think it was around $2,400 a few months back). It is a "slide" Treadmill and apparently the second version is significantly better but hey this is almost 1/4 of the price.

Shipping is fairly expensive though as the treadmill is darn heavy, it is quoting me $250 to ship to Melbourne. Free pickup in SA though

Finally this needs a PC, last time I checked there is no way to directly connect this to a Oculus Quest 2 without using Virtual Desktop

Reservations on how natural slide treadmills will feel in a VR game (will have to tilt forward, and consciously push and slide against the floor to walk)

From the reviews I watched a while back it basically doesn't feel natural at all. However it IS physically exerting yourself and is a bit of fun.

ThrillSeeker ran across the entire skyrim map and while it wasn't natural it still gave him a decent workout. He did tot totally stuffed the shoes but KAT VR said a couple of drops of lubricant supplied with the machine could have stopped that and made it easier.

      • Makes sense. any improvements to it being more natural with the next gen?

Wow that's cool. I can't wait for this tech to improve.

    • Same even from just an exercise standpoint, be fun to get a bit of a workout while doing something enjoyable. Cardio is dull!

Maybe "zombies, run!" integrated with this, an AI and street view could actually do what the blurb says it does instead of being garbage pre-recorded workouts

        • We already have 3D mapped cities.

Just waiting for big techs to incorporate real world into metaverse and it will be like Free Guy.

Mark Zucks took a big leap went all-in but turns out to be costly.

Optimistic for a future where I can run it down mid in league of legends with full immersion

Runing around on a giant non-stick frypan while being strapped to a equally giant lazy-susan on a stick.
    Surprisingly sounds like fun.

  • Ahhh the temptation is real… do they do a shipping discount for more than 2 (and does anybody wanna get one? lol)
