The number of people who can't read the very first sentence in the post and keep asking the same question (will it work with Apple One?) is concerning.

    • Probably just surprised, as the change in policy that occurred just over 12 months ago to allow sharing "Apple One storage and TV+, Music" subscriptions between users in different countries was not widely known.

  • How come when I tried to accept the TU ID icloud invitation with my AU ID it's saying the country/region do not match?

    • That's what I was getting a good 12 months ago, but worked today. Redit forums indicate the policy change 12 months ago, and an iOS version dependency may exist. I am not sold on that, I suspect this may occur if the Türkiye account has "Purchase Sharing" enabled, as you still can't share store purchases across countries. If you follow the guide as it on a device with the latest OS it should work.
PS: tried on an older iPAD and it didn't work, so perhaps there is something to the version dependency.

      • The method may have changed since I last did it.

          finally got it working!

credit to @darthsparrow in the original long running post

"When inviting another member, use the iMessage option and have that member click on the link in their Messages app. DO NOT use the Invite in Person option as that was my mistake that resulted in Region Error."

I used my macbook to create a new user with the TU ID, invite TU ID to join AU ID Family (existing family group) using iMessage (I've tried email invitation and the Region error came up), stop AU ID icloud sharing, turn on TU ID icloud sharing.

          • @madfish: I tried the iMessage option a month ago and got the "country/region do not match" error.

            Wonder what the criteria is?

    • I'm stuck with this region error too.
I am using an old iphone 5s as the TU account and bought the 2TB iCloud subscription with gift cards.
Using my iPhone SE (2nd Edition) which has my AU family plan, I've tried inviting the TU account via both iMessage and Airdrop
In both cases I receive the invitation on my TU iPhone 5s, but when I accept it stops me from proceeding forward saying I can't join a family in a different region.
It seems like others who have had success have one a mac as the TU account and the iPhone as the AU account or vice versa.
      Any ideas?

  • Purchased through G2A like someone recommended above due to OTP issues with TurGame. Now running into iCloud verify payment details issues. There's no none option and it's asking me to supply CC or Turkish Phone Number, anyone else have the same?

    • Follow as per the guide, you need to use a BROWSER for part.

  • Does this trick work with Google?

    • Yes I posted it previously. Just search for Google One

  • Turgame wont accept my OTP during check out!!! argggh

Is anyone else having this problem?

    • I guess you chose GPAY?

      • I tried both GPAY and PAYTR, both required verified mobile number and that verification OTP is failing…

  • +3

Thanks OP, I did the following without impacting the current family group on icloud

    1. create a standard user on my Mac and sign in with turkey Apple ID
    2. send family invitation from OZ family group to turkey ID
    3. accept the invitation on Mac
    4. stop sharing icloud+ on OZ primary member
    5. subscribe the 2T icloud on Mac and share with the family

    Done

    • What happens to the photos/video data on the other family member's account who are sharing your Oz iCloud account when you stop sharing? Do they lose their files or is there a little grace period where ALL the data is still intact even when you start sharing your Turkey iCloud data?

      For example.
I share my Oz iCloud 2 TB with my family.
      - If Dad has 250 GB of photos store on his Oz iCloud Account AND I stop sharing
      - Then share my Turkey iCloud Account
      - Will my dad still keep his 250 GB of photos saved in iCloud?

      • +1

All the data remains intact during and after the process. As far as I know, the moment you stop sharing the icloud+, other members cannot upload files/photos / receive email, referring to this page

If your iCloud storage exceeds your new storage plan capacity, iCloud won't sync or update your information. iCloud updates again when you increase your storage capacity or delete information to make more space.

    • +1

thanks for sharing mate. This worked for me. I couldnt subscribe to the 2tb plan from a mobile; it would let me continue without adding a card payment method. On a Macbook; it gives an option to choose NONE.

    • How exactly did you send the invitation and then accept the invite on a Mac? I sent it via email, and tried to accept via the browser link but I get the Wrong Region error.

      • Ok got it to work by sending the invite from iPhone (AU admin) to Mac (TU ID) via airdrop

  • OK, I’m stuck.

Added funds to me Türkiye account but when I click the link to sign up to iCloud+ it just gives me the upgrade option to 2TB (for $14.99) which I’m guessing is because I already have the 200GB plan but on my AU account.

    An I missing a step?

    • Restart your phone or try to continue but don’t checkout. Are you trying it from Turkish ID though?

      • Yep tried both and with the Turkish ID signed in for media and purchases. iCloud+ is still showing my current AU plan and family members with no options showing up for Turkish iCloud account.

        • I need to update the guide. The iCloud sub isn’t connected to media and purchases. You may have to use itunes on PC or desktop.

        • +1

I had the same issue initially. You need to click on your name in Settings, scroll to the bottom and sign out completely. Then sign in again with the new Turkish Apple ID, then click on Media and Purchases to turn it on. Mine was set to Off by default. Once it's on, everything will be against the new Turkish ID, you can then go into Manage Storage and you'll see Turkish pricing instead of AU pricing.

    • +2

Logging out of my AU account for iCloud entirely and then logging into the TRY account to set up iCloud seemed to work to show TRY prices.

  • Finally got mine setup, and it certainly was not straight forward… one of the steps from Turgames needed me to take photos of a note, my ID and my credit card as part of anti fraud!

So good on those who got it working, and good luck to those trying!

  • Is there a simple method to fix 'country/region does not match' when trying to add the au apple id to turkish apple id family?

  • Erdogan had recently opened the F U Australia Bridge……

  • Couldn't get it to work :( I might be missing something ….

    • Created a TR account
    • Purchased the gift card
    • enabled the Icloud+ on the TR account
    • Used a different apple device as recommended by others here ..
    • invited the TR account to the OZ family
    • joined without any issues
but the TR account is not the organiser I still have the OZ account as the family organiser I tried downgrading the OZ account still not doing anything !!
    • +1

but the TR account is not the organiser I still have the OZ account as the family organiser I tried downgrading the OZ account still not doing anything !!

Doesn’t need to be the organiser. After joining OZ family. Log back into TU ID and in family share, share iCloud plus.

      • if you are referring to Purchase Sharing.. I can't enable it on the TR Account .. Error ( Only the organiser can set this feature. )

      • Sorry I was looking at the wrong feature :) //

        Thanks for pointing it out

        Whohoo it's working now

I had to cancel the Icloud+ sharing under subscription on the OZ account
enable it on the TR account

    • I’m curious, what was the reason behind inviting the TR account to your AU account? Are you sure you haven’t followed the steps in reverse?

      • Possibly :) .. I just didn't want to keep my spare apple device signed to the TR account but guess its the only way to get it to work

    • invited the TR account to the OZ family

You need to use the TR account to invite your OZ family members.

This is how I have done it:

      1. Make sure everyone (except the OZ organizer and children under 13) leave the OZ family.
      2. As the TR organizer, invite adults into the new TR family (email, in person, airdrop etc).
      3. As the TR organizer, invite children (under 13) using "in person" method ONLY.
      4. As the AU organizer/parent, approve the children transfer.
      5. As the TR organizer, invite the AU organizer.
      6. As the TR organizer, set the AU organizer (and another adult) to be the parent of the children.
      7. As the TR organizer, share icloud+ service to the family.

Step (6) is optional but useful as it allows my partner and I to use our AU accounts to manage the children activities.

      • got it to work without disbanding the current OZ family :)

the only thing thanks @Pricebeat I was missing was cancelling " Iclould+ subscription sharing" on the OZ organiser and enabling it on the TR account .. that's it :)

  • A couple of caveats coming from an AU account where I was the organiser with 4 teenagers accounts (but set as adults) attached.

    • I can no longer have “ask to buy” on for the kids accounts;
    • Payments for anything now need to come from their own payment method and not my card.
    • You can invite the Turkey Apple ID to an existing AU Family which I have successfully done.
This allows you to still be the organizer.

      • But then you wouldn’t have the 2TB plan (with TR pricing) because you’re in an AU family?

        • Why wouldn't it? The Turkey Apple ID can share the 2 TB plan with the family.

          I am doing this.

          • @fiveferrari: I’m getting bloody confused here :)

You can only be a member of one family with one organiser and that organiser dictates the iCloud+ plan selection. So if your TR account is added to your AU account, where your AU account is the organiser, how can you be using the TR iCloud+ plan?

The whole idea behind the TR workaround is having to disband your AU family so I’m at a loss what you guys are doing.

            • +3

              @ElectrkJonesy777:

So if your TR account is added to your AU account, where your AU account is the organiser, how can you be using the TR iCloud+ plan?

Any member of the family can share their iCloud plus with other members of the family. Even if they are not the organiser

              • @Pricebeat: Son of a……I completely missed this.

So I can now recreate an AU family with my main account, invite the TR account and use that iCloud+ plan but keep my AU amount the organiser?

  • You can simply enable it on any adult member account
under family sharing> Ask to buy > activate

    • That option is no longer there now that I’m in the TR accounts family.

      • i think you have to enable the parent/guardian feature on first

  • -2

FYI if anyone was wondering, it's one phone number to one apple ID so you have to get another SIM card for this if you want to do it.

    • It’s not. I have used same number on four different IDs, unless it’s changed in last month.

      • -1

really? i've been trying to create my turkey based Apple ID with no luck - got to the 2FA code stage to enter in my 6 digit number and get the "Your account cannot be created at the moment" error

      • ok now it worked on a different desktop device. interesting. same phone number confirmed

  • All good. Thanks

I suppose the inconvenience is to buy and input TRY itunes gc every other months to top up balance

  • I can share the 2Tb storage but not the rest of the iCloud+ functions, which include Hide my Email which I do use. Reason is probably we can’t active Purchase Sharing as we can’t add a payment method for the TR account. Anyone has the same issue? (that can’t share iCloud+ except the 2Tb storage)

    • Hide my email and Private Relay, both can be shared once you share iCloud plus. Works fine for me

      • and you haven’t had Purchase Sharing enabled but just the iClound Storage enabled?

        • Yes can’t share purchases from TU ID anyway

          • @Pricebeat: you need to enable Purchase Sharing to share iCloud+ except storage, which has its own switch, is what I was told by Apple Support.

            • @OzComment: iCloud+ includes everything (storage, hide my email and private relay) once you share storage, the other two benefits will get shared too. It has nothing to be purchase sharing. Have you tried it yet?

              • @Pricebeat: this is my issue right now and what i’m asking here. Share only storage doesn’t share the rest of the iCloud+ in my case and when i ask Apple support they checked my account and say Purchase Sharing is disabled and hence the issue

                • @OzComment: Have you confirmed the storage is being shared and is accepted by the AU ID?

                  Try to force restart device.

                  • @Pricebeat: yup, I’ve access to the 2Tb storage for the whole family. Tried restart both organizer and family member devices, left and rejoined, and still doesn’t work. the family device still asks me to upgrade to iCloud+ to use the rest of the functions

                    • @OzComment: in fact, if you check the Apple Support article, iCloud+ is listed under one of the purchases that could be shared by Purchase Sharing

                      • @OzComment: https://www.icloud.com/icloudplus/

Try logging in your Aussie ID on the browser into iCloud and check above link.

                        • @Pricebeat: So this is what I'm seeing:

                          TU ID (Organiser):
                          Name - Email - iCloud+
                          Your Plan: iCloud+ - 2 TB Storage - ₺64,99 / month
                          Your Storage: 0% of 2GB

                          Aussie ID (family member):

                          Name - Email - iCloud

Your Plan: Standard - 5GB Storage
                          Your Storage: 28% of 2GB

                          • @OzComment: So you haven’t shared the iCloud plus yet. That’s why it’s not working for you

                            • @Pricebeat: fxxk. had a major typo, please read again,

                              TU ID (Organiser):
                              Name - Email - iCloud+
                              Your Plan: iCloud+ - 2 TB Storage - ₺64,99 / month
                              Your Storage: 0% of 2GB

                              Aussie ID (family member):

                              Name - Email - iCloud

Your Plan: Standard - 5GB Storage
                              Your Storage: 28% of 2TB

^^^^^^ I HAVE 2TB FOR MY AUSSIE ID

                              • @OzComment:

Your Plan: Standard - 5GB Storage
                                Your Storage: 28% of 2TB

                                Doesn’t make sense.

                                Login on your TU ID

Settings > name > family sharing > subscriptions > iCloud > share with family

                                • @Pricebeat: seems to be working at the moment but I will wait one more night to confirm as I recalled I lost access overnight previously as well.

I will report back what I did if it works.

                                  • @OzComment: Yah, my iCloud+ retained overnight.

What I did was, on the Family Organizer's phones, go to the path as mentioned by Pricebeat,

Settings > name > family sharing > subscriptions > iCloud+ > Stop Sharing with Family

Then kill Settings on both Organizer and Family member phones / devices.

Go to the above path again but this time share with family.

This worked for me. Thanks OP!

  • please let me know how to enter Turkie address to carry on next step
    thank you very much

  • Could anyone who had successfully pay for Turkey icloud+ give me a hand? I get stucked at the step with subscribing to the icloud+ 200GB plan ₺19,99 / month. It enforces me to type in payment detais but it doesn't accept any of my Australia direct debit cards.
And it doesn't have an option to pay for with the turgame gift card app balance which I had redempt.

    • Have you redeemed the gift card on your TR account through the App Store?

      • Hi @ElectrkJonesy777, yes, that's correct. My TR account's app store shows existing app balance is ₺75, which was redempt through TR account app store with TurGame gift card.

    • finally resolve the issue. When subscribing icloud+ via IOS iphone and ipad, the new payment method is a mandatory input which cannot be bypassed.
The way to bypass the payment method input is to go to a Macbook, sign out from existing apple id, log in with Turkey id.
Macbook's icloud+ subscription allows the payment method to select "NONE", that will bypass the mandatory credit card input, and then pay with App store TL balance.

      • Glad you got it sorted but that’s odd, I never had to jump through those hoops. Just did it all from a spare iPhone I had laying around.

      • Can confirm this works, thanks for sharing! Was finally able to get it working.

      • Created a new user account on my Macbook and was still asked to pick between Visa, MC, Amex and Mobile to pay…
        Hmmmmmmmmm

  • added the gift cards in my account, but when i try to subscribe its showing US prices? anyone know how to fix

  • I'm halfway through the steps and have successfully bought the 50 TL iTunes Gift Card from Turgame (been waiting for about 1 hour now so fingers crossed it will arrive soon)

For those wondering about the SMS validation, read this guide: https://support.turgame.com/how-to-pay/#gpay

In the second step, it says "No Wait SMS, Only click Confirm Button" -> so I did that and voila!

Weird that they needed this extra step but hey it works :)

  • hi everyone, first time here. just wondering if anyone who have tried this before….
do you put in another AU mobile number that is different to your current apple ID or can you use the same one.
Also with the Turkey's address…. any tips what to put in there? I take it that you would also need a new email address too? Thanks in advance

    • do you put in another AU mobile number that is different to your current apple ID or can you use the same one.

      can use the same one.

any tips what to put in there?

Just google a hotel there and use that.

also need a new email address too?

      Yes

      • thanks so much for that. cheers

  • Thanks OP. I've done everything almost to the T and using a suggestion by another fellow user managed to get my TU ID to share icloud storage to my main AU ID and missus' AU ID.

One thing I noticed however, is that someone else mentioned that if I stopped my iCloud+ storage plan it will happen automatically and prorated funds will be automatically credited back to me. However, when I stopped it, Apple said I will continue to have it until my next expiry date, so no prorated funds for me, bummer.

Now I'll have to remember to periodically buy that Turkiye iTunes

  • First of all, thanks for this post - I've got iCloud 2TB up and running and shared! I was wondering if Apple Music can be shared also via the Turkish account? For example I've activated my 1 month Apple Music (family) trial on my Turkish account. But not sure if it is actually possible to share that with my Aussie Apple accounts? Anyone had any luck with this or is it just a plain not possible?

    Hi there,
It doesn't allow to Family Share as Payment method requires and none of my cards work. Can anyone please help?

    • +1

      Are you effing kidding me?

  • I'm also stuck at the step where you select the plan (200gb/19.99TR), asking me to put in payment details.

I have successfully redeemed a 50TR giftcard on the account.
I have gone through the steps of entering a Turkish address and selected None for the payment method.

I've tried from a spare iPhone 6S on iOS 14.0.1 and an M2 Air on MacOS 13.0.1. Both prompt me for payment details, neither give an option for None.

    Any suggestions?

    • Resurrected an older MacBook running MacOS 10.15.7 and the None option was there. Up and running now :)
