I was looking for a cheap copy of the book, Developing IoT Projects with ESP32, as the Kindle version is ~$40. Checked the publisher's website and they had it on sale for $5 along with scores of other books and videos.

Are these actual books or ebooks though? On the front page it says 'Book' for each title, discounted to $5 or whatever, but if you click through to the actual item it says 'eBook'
Serious suggestion, avoid the books and just use online resources. Almost anything published in a book on ESPs/Arduinos etc will inevitably be out of date and the libraries it uses are either deprecated or the syntax is wrong etc.
Though that is also true for online resources, which is annoying, but at least not as bad as a book!
