Paying extra for a Nintendo label slapped on a regular sd card isn’t a bargain.

    • You can slap all you want, but they’re just going to see that beautiful red colour and buy it anyway

I would vote neg. Just because it has a mushroom and Nintendo name in it doesn’t mean it should be overpriced. The regular model does the exact same thing but at a fraction of the price.

This would be more of a bargain for a 256GB card.

Can’t even see it once it’s in the switch…

    • That depends how much you switch. But, you’re right, most people with a Switch aren’t going to switch

128gb in this day and age.. is this a memory card for ants? I always recommend min 400gb and call it a day haha

  • +4

The normal 128GB is around $19 no sale or sub $10 if on sale. So basically you are paying $25-$60 more for just the branding and colour.

    Bargain indeed!

People on Ozbargain know better than buying branded Switch memory cards.

That's for the uneducated who walk into JB and EB.

    • +1

I'd say mostly parents and grandparents looking for an easy gift for their kids tbh.

Yes that’s why every time a micro sd card deal is posted, there’s always at least one comment asking “does this work in a Switch?”

      • OK people should know better…. Especially those who post deals.

  • Glad I read the comments before purchasing.

My kid is complaining their switch lite is full. What memory card do you recommend? Do you simply insert the memory card the switch does the rest?

Seems like same performance as their budget Ultra range microSD cards, should get 256GB model for a few dollars more and get the faster Extreme model for cheaper price.

    • It is the exact same one with their normal Ultra range plus the shiny red paint and Nintendo branding on top. Yet at full price they were $79 which effectively equivalent to the Samsung Pro Plus 512GB which is hovering around $79-$89 and when they were "on sale" for $35 they were still competing with the 256GB ones when they were at sale price. Whatever ways you slice it, it is, for the lack of better words, a rip-off.

But red makes it go faster.

    • Wait until you see the yellow one!

  • +1

It really is a gorgeous red colour… you uncultured fools!

    • +3

People that up vote obvious bad deals just to troll… Irresponsible fools.

  • Was going to buy this this until reading all these comments. I need a card for my Nintendo switch. We need to download the fortnite game which is 10+gb. I guess we need minimum 64gb. Any recommendations ? Thanks
