Price went up from the previous Charcoal $475.80 / Chalk $477.67 deal, but still a pretty good price for the Pixel 6a and still looks to be the lowest out there right now.

Looks like people have mixed success with pricebeat at Officeworks, but they should do it given that it's the exact same model and there's no "international stock/warranty" clause in their Price Beat Guarantee.

  • Would be tempting if it had a headphone jack. My 4a5g has started playing up.

      USB-C headphones

      • USB-C to Audio jack adaptors not working?

        • +2

I find the USB-C port gets loose long before my phones stop working.

Putting extra stress from adaptors when im jogging or such sounds not ideal.

          To each their own.

          • @MasterScythe: Haven't really seen many phones with loose ports tbh.
Seems more of a fuss to me to still have cables when running. After i bought wireless headphones, i am not going back to wired ones.

            • @nikoris: Im the opposite.

I find wireless headphones too heavy when running.

Unless im going to move to earbuds (not likely) then wired are just much more comfortable.

Give us some Aus stock deals on pixels ya basterds

  • Where are the pixel 7 pro deals? Been holding off for one for a while but no where seems to have anything

    • I'm waiting as well. Seems like the November/December deals were the best for a while.
Maybe when the 7a comes out?

  • This or the S21 FE?

    • I would definitely go with S21 FE

      • Me too, much more interesting software

As a former S21 FE user of 4 months, S21 FE is a horrible phone.

The battery would die in like 2~3 hours. Died faster than my 3.5 year old Galaxy note 9.

It wasn't even the SoT but the standby drain was crazy.

Would go to sleep and wake up to find a 15~20% drain.

Not to mention the cameras. S21 FE had horrible night mode and there was so much noise in the still photos.

Traded it in for the Pixel 7 @ JB HiFi pixel launch deal, could not be any happier with the pixel.

Pixel 6A seems to have good reviews, it ranked #1 with MKBHD blind camera test. Plus the Tensor chip would be further optimised now that it's been out for a while. The exynos that you get with S21 FE is just not worth it. Even with the GoS issues with Samsung it still overheated while gaming and drained my battery so fast.

    The best current phone camera

    • Better than 7 Pro?

      • +4

Best smartphone camera in a blind test. 7 pro has better specs than the 6a however the 6a won in the blind smartphone camera test.

Not sure I trust the blind to test smartphone cameras.

          • @Fatalsoup: 20/20 blind people would disagree with your statement

still waiting for my UK order from before 2023 to have a delivery date

    • +2

oh, and it just updated with a ship 13 Jan and delivery 24 Jan … but almost 3 weeks no shipping date

my 3rd problematic Amazon UK order

      • +1

Same. Not doing this shit again for something that I need. Ok if you're not in a rush.

      • That's a shame. I ordered on Sunday just gone and that night I already had a delivery date of 24th January to Darwin

  • +5

Still waiting for delivery date on an order which I placed 17 days ago. I'll probably cancel it. Amazon UK is a joke

    • Yeah I'll probably end up doing the same. Went through 3-4 support reps with no resolution.

  • Deal expired. Now it's 658.. Sad..

FYI - I successfully price beat this last week (for the last deal) at Officeworks in Sydney, Hunter St, CBD.
I was refused a week earlier in Hobart.

https://www.reddit.com/r/pixel_phones/comments/qkimuf/pixel_… ,seems a common problem with pixels and google tells me that google took down some of the customer complaint pages and instead put together a wiki on how to take care of ones phone.

    • Read a portion of the comments and seen theres even ones coming from the last few months. Absolutley shocking stuff. No way I'm buy a phone that can shatter its screen with no drops…

  • Congratulations to those who bought this or successfully price beat this at officeworks.

  • Would that mean if someone got a price match at Officeworks and uploaded their receipt other's could get that honoured?

  • So my order showed an estimate delivery timeline of 7 - 10 business days being fulfilled by Amazon UK. Here we are 3 weeks since my order and no movement yet. Spoke to numerous, and I mean numerous people from their Customer Service who only know how to read a scripted answer with no 'real' service to the customer. Spoke to a very gentle agent today and from what they explained, I nearly fell of my chair. Apparently the Customer Service team has no direct line of communication with the Fulfilment centre or team. YES, you heard it right!!! They claim to provide a facade of Customer service but in reality have no professional setup where they can actually help serve and resolve issues for the customer coz they have no back office communication channels!!! Imagine calling up your bank to raise an issue around your credit card which the agent on the call is unable to help you with and informs that they cannot do anything coz the Bank agents have no line of comms to the Credit Card team.

Buy only if shipments are from local stores and not international.
