[Hack] Get ~%2 Utility Bills Cashback from ING with Programmed BPAY Payments

Moved to Forum: Original Link

ING %1 cashback on bills is rounding UP the cashback amount, so you could potentially pay your bills in multiple $0.51 BPAY transactions and get $0.01 cashback for each payment.

You can write a little script to automate the payments on web interface and double the cashback on your bills.

ING would probably change it to a round down calculation if they see this is abused. I wouldn't suggest doing this if you are using ING as your main bank. You might get your account locked.

Let's say each BPAY payment takes a minute, that's 60c an hour you're saving. I'll beat that by hiring you at a dollar an hour

      • Seems like a lot of work and effort to go to to for a max out at $100 a year.

I bet your account is closed within hours. Something like this would trigger an internal account block almost immediately. Besides the bizarre amount of small transactions it also costs them money to process bPay payments.

This is the type of stupid crap that ruins deals for normal people.

They've banned/blacklisted people for abusing the previous EFTPOS withdrawal rebate and even people splitting taps for the card use requirements.

Doubt you'll be able to make it worthwhile

    • My account only got closed after I stopped abusing it when they discontinued it.

    ING will close your account in 5, 4, 3, 2, ….

  • What’s %2 meant to be?
