  • Are these legal in NSW?

    • +1

Nah they're pretty backwards with their laws. Private use only.

      • How come I see a whole bunch of them roaming the CBD every day?

        • +7

How come people speed when that's illegal ;) Not enough police to go around enforcing both all the time.

        • AFAIK in most areas the only legal ones are the hire ones - everything else is a no-go.

But, just like whipper-snipper bicycles or imported e-bikes with way too much power - people will do what they will if it's not enforced.

        • Because NSW are knobs when it comes to these types of laws, same law applies for hover boards ffs. I rang a local cop shop enquiring use in NSW (after many hours researching different brands/features etc.) after reading to check state laws as they may be different, and the cop didn't even know! Wasn't even aware there were any for NSW! $600 straight up (minimum) for riding on a public road. Public road includes foot path. bike path, parks and also the road out the front of your house! If you think that's ridiculous just wait till you get a firearms charge for owning a gel blaster!

Refurbished? Did they get the blood off?

    • Refurbished by the original Segway factory and come with the original box. Would say it looks new. Historical mileage is cleaned as well.

  • How do those compare to Pro 2 ? I just placed an order for Pro2 $615. Probably still have enough time to cancel it :)

    • +1

They're pretty comparable. The Pro 2 has a bigger battery so you'll squeeze more range out of it. While the F40A is more waterproof and has larger 10" anti-puncture tyres versus the 8.5" tube tyres in the Pro 2.

      • I will keep the Pro 2 then, still cheaper :) . btw, is the pro 2 good enough for light rain in Hobart ? I know it's not 100% waterproof but light rain, short distance should be ok right ?

        • +1

I ride in Hobart 😉 Yep it'll be fine for light rain but obviously don't go riding in a downpour and wipe it down at the end.
